Porno glumica
I’ve never understood the concept of arm weight because it would seem to me that the anterior deltoid and pectoral muscles are at play to keep the bow from falling to the side of the bass, therefore how do you determine what arm weight is? If you let your arm fall it will fall off the board. If you keep it on the board the deltoid and pecs are adding upward resistance.
I look forward to your other videos very much. The arm weight thing has also helped me.
This has made me feel a lot more comfortable with the bow. After playing electric bass since the age of 11, I finally took up string bass at the age of 64. I’ve been struggling with German bow, and I was seriously thinking of switching over to French, but I somehow missed what you should do with your middle finger. So you’re kind of holding it like a chopstick. Wonderful, thank you so much.
I take your programs to Douglas County Historical Society for them to add to their archives. Now I don't have that, so please send them your materials for future reference. Otherwise you limit research. And for the record, paper is the best way to save things for historical purposes.
Hi, Bobby, Excellent presentation. You now have the chair in the Omaha Symphony that I had 55 years ago. The principal at that time was George Work, a wonderful player and mentor. I hope your experience with the orchestra is as enjoyable as mine was all those years ago.
You guys KILLED it last night. Amazing show. Hope you and Cypress play again in the future!!
Those semi-quaver runs look like a lot of fun to play! I don’t often see runs like that for double bass that are fast, but feel nice under the fingers
Wish it was not a work night living 2 hours from Omaha!
great video! My bow jumps when letting it go over the strings, though, and no matter how much I tight or loosen it
I had a great time MC'ing this last year... the Omaha Symphony is amazing! The musicians ALWAYS put on a good show.. and I imagine they will again this year!
Very intense
Thanks for sharing! I would never claim to "play" bass (let alone double bass!), but I do own a bass guitar, so I'm partial to seeing the low end get some love. And y'all have been all over this channel recently! Also, just saw that the symphony will be performing Holst's The Planets next spring, and I am stoked to get tickets. I've routinely made friends listen to Jupiter as a case study in how incredible symphonic music can be, so to experience it live is really going to be a treat. Thanks to everyone who makes our symphony so great, performers and support staff alike. And pretty please do another show with Guster if the opportunity comes up. The performance of "Come Downstairs and Say Hello" that y'all put together is near the top of my musical experiences.
Terrific !. This is a tremendous effort. Brilliant. Top drawer all round !. Thank you and greetings from Scotland x.
I've been playing double bass for 4 years, and I'm finally going to buy my bass, and I ended up feeling the absence of an octave lower in the orchestra. I ended up wondering, which one is best? extension or 5 strings?
Brand new Piano Concerto No 2! With various styles such as Romantic, musical theatre, early Modern, Baroque pastiche, fugue, and even a rhumba! Hope to lift your Spring spirits. th-cam.com/video/0wUWfXRbVV8/w-d-xo.html Thanks!
Loved the simple physics equation… I was like….. oh, duh. How much rosin do you use?
Great demonstration
Very nice video. The park is beautiful and the Omaha Symphony is excellent!
Bobby, Great video. I can hear my teacher, Anthony Bianco, teaching me the very same concept. He would put his arm on my shoulder and press down which would cause tension. Then he would just drop his arm on my shoulder with the relax weight of his arm. Same idea that has served me well.
If you know the story of William Tell this song makes a lot of sense.
Wonderful!!👏
TBH, I don’t agree with this. For elderly audiance, this is impossible. I brought my grandparents to the Harry Potter Concert yesterday, and they cannot get the information. I know that you guys want to save the cost of printing. But I beg you, please bring back the printed version (like playbill/showbill), a lot of audiances still want this. We also want to keep this as souvenir which will bring us back good memories.
Saw the symphony in Calgary last night. How do I download Three Shades of Blue? Is it on any streaming like apple?
My sister Sandy Rodgers plays oboe and loves what she does. I'm very proud of her. Love ya sis. Barb
it is interesting how there is analogy between bass and jazz drums where many choose a similar underhand grip, with similar pros and cons seemingly.
My best friend, thanks to you, I enjoyed watching... I'm proud of you for developing day by day.
Brand new release! A lively piece for full Orchestra and Piano in seven-time, hope to lift your Summer spirits- in seven! th-cam.com/video/H-lTJFy40qU/w-d-xo.html Thanks!
Promo SM 😌
I live in Omaha, I’m sorry y’all have to have your talent here
Very well executed, and at a tempo that I believe Maestro thought not so fast for better lyrics and definition.
All the tempo transitions makes this a tricky piece to pull off on a "virtual orchestra" situation, never mind that it was done conductor-less. This is probably the most impressive such video I've seen especially considering the size of the ensemble.
love it!
Wow, amazing, great introduction, god bless you all.
Incredible journey.. Beautifully captured. God bless you, omaha, your family and keep their music and fun spirit going . Eager to be physically present in one of your concerts , soon .
What an interesting program to mark the start of the season and Maestro Bahl's tenure. Best wishes from Portland, OR!
Looking forward to hearing women and BIPOC composers played!
That’s my teacher! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ She’s so wonderful! One day I hope to play this piece.
Shout out to the editor who put all this together!
I love this a lot! With the pop concerts and movie play alongs you do, I should have known the Omaha Symphony was savvy enough to have a youtube channel! Happily subscribed, and bravo to all the musicians! And a SPECIAL accolade for the editor that put all of this together!
This is incredible!! Such talent, both the musicians and the production team!! BRILLIANT 🌹
loved this!!! ❤️ modern technology rawks!
Thanks to our stellar production team!
Just lovely.
Bravo and thank you!
Agree with you about his orchestration - it sometimes beggars belief that a mind can be that fine - or it does mine!
BEAUTIFUL! I'm not good enough on the flute to be a part of your organization, but I love this! I wish there were more flutes, as I know you have at least four players. Sounds amazing! Keep up the AWESOME work!
After the derecho this week, it's nice to have power, cell coverage, and music again!!!
