So as a coach, when you see numbers you undestand their position straight away? 8 can be striker can be winger can be full back can be goalkeeper. The number doesn't matter, the roles and responsibilities of each player matter. If you tell your fullback to mark my n7 because "he is a winger" then he will be out of position soon.
