Doesn’t work as good with chicken noodle soup
Gotta listen to wife or she will give you the axe, lol 😂
Reading the axe book, cook says the Connecticut is more efficient, chapter 6. He doesn't mention the Connecticut but gives dimensions closer to it than the Dayton.
“Who woulda thunk it?” Well… Cody did?
👋🏼
Thats funny you have parrallels from playing hokey because I literally only got into axes because I needed an adult version of lacrosse sticks too make😅 and a lil cheaper
If you cant handle 32-36 inch handle your a child and your loosing a ton of leverage 😢
I know im not taking advice about axes from somebody who swings an axe like that😅 and from the knees but also brother you havent done your research because double bits with aderandack curved handles were like the most popular axe in all of woodcutting when logging made up 80% of the payroll in the country also making a straight handle is not easier then curved in fact its harder😅 but we all have our opinions
Bucking Billy says the same about plastic
There’s a reason why different axes were popular in different parts of the country for different types of wood, Connecticut axes are an absolute dream in big fresh poplars or birch, tossing huge chips
I recommend using the Sheetz non Ethanol pump gas for your chainsaw.
MidwayUSA has a combo-sale right now, this axe with a Cold Steel SRK knife for $45. Really hard to beat woods/trail combo for that price.
A boot that can be re-soled or a trainer tossed in the landfill? I got the same boot on sale for $400.
15:50 maybe you could insert a concrete anchor (drop in anchor) into the end of the handle. They expand as they are tightened, but I doubt the actual area that "expands when tightened" will be the point where you want to increase the tightness, or expand enough to be effective, unless you had a couple of those inserts set at different depths...
I am in Queensland, not Tassie, but I have a slightly smaller one of these. Got it from an older relative. It is very old, amazingly hard and both chops and splits brilliantly for a smallish axe. ( I do wonder if it started as a full sized axe - it is that old and these guys liked to sharpen everything all the time). I can imagine the full sized one is practically like magic.
Up to $400 now.
👏👏👏🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
I agree with idea of always runaway like the Jack the nimble learned that in PA 😊
funny thing historically elm was used for axe handles in place of hickory here in Scotland since hickory didn't grow here but ash wood was the most dominant as tool handle wood.
So you went down a half size from your redwings?
didn't even really need the wedge.
Awesome!
What a great video. Just what i needed
Bloody hell that went quick! Nice wood up the top though
Damn lucky right there sir. Widowmaker for sure. The way it twisted as it fell made me shiver. Stay blessed!
That one was ready to go 😳
Hey expert . Your bar is on upside down .
You’re supposed to flip bars so they wear even Mr. Expert. Be careful commenting on stuff you know very little about. Better to remain silent and thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.
Never said I was an expert. Clearly I’m not. But the bar being “upside” down is no indication of that.
@@KevinsDisobedienceignore the fool.
I love being shown hazards I didn’t even know existed. Thanks for the video.
Was a first for me too. I should have cut the notch even higher, but I thought I was above most of the rot. Never the same tree twice.
Cherry tree
I always make myself 38 inch axe handles cause i have extremly long arms ( 83 wingspan) and short axe handles just feel weird in my experience
You should learn how to sharpen a chain properly first, only file one way not back and forth 🥴
Does it work on chicken s
i came here just looking for more info on wedges, but 1 minute in suddenly i’m a subscriber
That's a very fine axe
You mentioned that your life stays the same regardless of who is in office. im curious if you see any difference today vs when you made this video?
Sad very sad!!
Ringing would drive me crazy’
All that work for nothing I hate when that happens!
Love hearing those fall crickets!
Hi Kevin, what weight is that biber axe??. It looks absolutely brilliant. Thanks
That was an easy fix compared to some of the ones ive had to do lol
A 400c fuel injected would be nasty. I’m not a fan of ripsaw from everything I’ve read online, not that they are bad they just seem overpriced for what they do. Good video man!
A buck 110 means alot to me because it was always in my grandfathers drawer and i always used it to docstuff outaide as a kid from making bows or slingshots etc. And he carved up his deer meat and pigs up with it. And il probably always have one on me its dependable and i love the weight
you new a bark box muffler from west coast saws, makes more power and sounds way better
Looking good!
Just tig weld it
Is that going to hold up to the stresses the machinery will put it through?
How about adding extra steel, flat stock on the outside to beef it up?
Hey, if it works do it!
Now if it were me (please note my opinion is not the only way to do it), I’d run 6010 or 6011 to close up that gap, grind it flat and then run that 7018 over top
