There are two separate series of comics based on this game. 1 series of physical comics that got cancelled after only 2 issues, and another digital comic app which didn't get cancelled and remains canon to this day.

The true villain of this story wasn't Six, it wasn't Thin Man, and it wasn't the monsters. The Signal Tower itself is the main antagonist. It is the one who has twisted the world and turned it into a nightmare realm. Six, Mono, and all the other children are simply innocent kids who have been dumped into a world that hates them. They are stripped of their innocence and either killed, or turned into monsters themselves. Six became a monster at the end of LN1, and Mono became a monster in LN2.

Six is a girl.

When someone on Twitter asked why Six dropped Mono, the Little Nightmares Twitter replied with, "Extracting someone from a fantasy can be deeply upsetting for everyone involved". What this means is that when Six became a monster, she didn't realize that she was a monster because she was in her own personal heaven. When you came in and started breaking her music box, you were dragging her out of a safe place, back into a waking nightmare that was out to kill her. And on top of this, every time you hit the box, it physically hurt her as well. On the final hit of the fight she was literally lying on the ground crying in agony. So from Six's perspective, Mono was literally trying to kill her. That is why she betrayed him, because from her perspective, he betrayed her first.
