Great Video, 😊!
Shit happens 😂
Love it-Lucky dice schmuck😂!!Well done on the vid! Where is this being played; app? Name? Thx in advance…
you played the end of the game so badly
Unless the underlying stock is collecting significant dividends over the long term don't see much of a point in putting a protective collar over it. If I were bullish on a stock I could write a synthetic long stock or -put/+call/s where I fully pay for the long call/s at a higher strike with the itm-time premium from the short put. Otherwise it's not a riskless strategy - if the underlying stock doesn't move you're on the hook for the short leg and lost all the premium paid for the long leg. For protective collars with stocks there's early assignment risk on the short call side (common dividend capture strategy by deep itm call holders) and there's also the lost premium on the long put side if the underlying never moves. Long/Short Collars either profit from assuming a direction correctly while Long Collars with stock are meant to protect the value of the underlying for a specified time while collecting a limited amount of profit from a combination of the short call sold and dividend distributions if any. It is a good strategy to manage risk but not a riskless strategy all on its own.
Where are they playing? (which website)?
Thank you, this was exactly the question I had, and you answered it clearly.
Not a strong video. He is unsure of his holdings and restates his recollection more than once. This is not good for people learning.
5:33 finally explains it
What a whiny player
There is only 1 statistically best move. So only one of you in the comments are right. The rest of you are wrong.
This is the funniest video I have ever seen on Backgammon. It must be a joke, that works really well!! Haha. He didn't just knock you onto the bar mate, he totally blew you away!!! I almost died laughing when he threw the double 6's, "The dice, lady's and gentlemen, are not my friend!". Hahahahaha! You're an eternal optimist! Haha! Well done. Give us more!
Hilarious strategy 😂😂
If you sell an OTM call and the stock drops, you haven’t lost anything unless you sell the stock locking in a loss. On stocks that I like, I write calls and hope that the price stays flat, or goes down slightly, thus using the stock as a cash generator.
Your opponent outplayed you. You never made any good moves
why are you using different time lines for your calls and puts????
Indeed
Great explanation of ITM cc! Thank you.
Good stuff but not many opponents will play as badly as that!
No, at 2:07 the best move by far is black bishop takes f7, check ... you can figure out the rest
You shouldn't adopt any strategy except to hold two stones, in starting position, or not. Flexibility is the key. 9 times out of 10, fortune favors the bold.
Are you still trading?
I know this is 3 years old, this makes me realize I have been looking at options trading all wrong. Thank you for this. Total common sense 🤑🤑
Well if you're worried about your shares being assigned, then roll out the option to a further date at the same strike price for more premiums before it expires.
Mark you still here? What do you think about selling a covered call (Tesla), for really deep in thr money, say maximum expiration, maximum bottom of DITM. i.e. - Jan 17 2025 $5 strike, pays $18,500 premium, you own it for 100 shares @ $190 per share. If it drops to say $160... I can buy back the contract and keep the difference. But I can use that premium to trade other companies meantime.
Tax implications?
You mean covered call 😅wtf u talking bout 😅😅😅
Mark, Missing your videos. Hop back in the saddle with some videos.
That's why I focus on tickers around $1 where I'm seling larg amount of contarcts, but on strike 1 or 0.5.... My risk is when the share price go negative...Opportunities are not all the time, but there are...pretty often
...great video anyway
Very good sir thanks 👍
Do you have telegram group ?
If TSLA goes to $250 a share and the buyer of the call paid $3000 premium... Doesn't this mean the buyer paid $250 per share ($2,5000) + $3000 premium, for a total of $28,000 for $25,000 worth of stock?? Or am I totally missing something. I'm new at this...please go easy on me..LOL
Thank you great explanation. I'm pretty new yo options. I see you went out to 30days.... This gives you more premium for the necessary strike price to make this work, correct. 2 weeks out wouldn't work.. I'm I correct?
Depends on your strategy. Either way can work just fine.
You can keep rolling the put down for a credit with the stock decline. Widening your profit zone when the stock reverses. Powerful strategy for sure.
If x goes to $24 your leap put wouldn’t be at zero. Barely move you can sell it when shares called away
i use this strategy a lot. the biggest problem is that its very tax inefficient. best to do it in a tax-free (retirement) account.
Thank you mark that was nice and precise explanation about cover call strategy 👍
The downside to a "covered put" is that if the stock explodes up, you are basically naked a short call, and your face gets ripped off.
I own 80 shares of Apple for $100. I don't have money for 20 more shares at the moment. But I want to sell a covered call on my Apple shares. Would it be a good decision to buy 20 shares on margin, then sell and in the money covered call for the amount of the margin? My reasoning behind doing this would be to have some downside protection in these volatile markets. What do you think?
I do not want to give you advice. I believe it is your decision based on your risk tolerance.
The audio feedback is nuts, you must be really hurting
I felt his rage on the 66 :) lol
You said take $30.05 - $29.55 = and you get $50 of profit. I am already confused.
That's a good one Mark good job.
I sold an itm covered call yesterday why didn’t I get paid for it?
Guaranteed you got paid. Check your cash balance. That’s where it shows.
@@markjackson4085 ok I see it now

This is great - BUT- you are essentially showing that the selling covered calls have the same risks as owning stock... they can go DOWN- selling covered calls you can also keep it long term (as an investor) or buy the call back and then you have the same option any stock owner has, to sell the position. The risk is the same - going down. The time element is different, but you can buy back the call. With time element taken into consideration, you probably still make out positive on the premium.
Correct. The covered call strategy is not for everyone.
What do you do if the stock goes below your Call strike price? Yes, you keep your premium, but the stocks you bought are in a loss now? How do you proceed from here? sell OTM calls untill the stock price comes up to your paid value? Please advise
Check out the wheel strategy. Tons of videos on this.
You should have kept you TSLA. It is now $1,200 p/s :)
