A small musical video collection of gear come and gone
Epiphone EA-25T Gibson Kalamazoo model
Only got chance to crank the Epi.
It’s essentially a “Gibson Ranger”.
Built in the same Kalamazoo building with its siblings with the same parts in a different guise.
This particular is super rare as the EA25T in the epi catalog featured a 15” speaker.
This was a transitional model following on from the 59 epi models in the diamond cloth.
No pedals other than the surfy was used on these videos presented.

Strymon Deco V2 - review
มุมมอง 2175 หลายเดือนก่อน
I’m really pleased with this V2. What I’d love to see from strymon is a big box deco. Like the timeline etc. The ability to have degrading repeats and multiple repeats. I know it wouldn’t be correct to the consoles it’s based on but this is the best delay I’ve found in 20 years. Various pre amps would be great too rather than just the 2 offered here. Presets, more tweak ability, on the fly adju...

Hi! I just acquired one of these amps recently and it sounds dark. I'm playing a strat and I had to turn the tone knob all the way up to get any clarity at all. In your videos there seems to be ample high end and clarity. How did you find the amp to be?
@@mahkyb Hi, there could be a few factors. When I acquire these amps I always make sure they’re either recently serviced or I take them straight to my amp tech to check everything over. This particular amp also had a 1961-62 Jensen ceramic speaker. I find the ceramics to be a little more punchy and crisper than the alnico. A bright 12ax7 in the pre amp also can help. Can’t remember exactly what I had here but maybe a RCA or Raytheon would be a good candidate. This amp is prone to being quite warm and mellow imo. I mainly used it for the outboard reverb
@ Hi! My amp is with the tech right now. I’ll mention to him maybe using a brighter tube in that position. The speaker was changed out to a WGS 8”. So, it’s definitely a newer speaker. I’m really hoping the amp can be more balanced. I may have to get an eq pedal to see if I can pull some of the mid frequencies out.
@ tbh an original Jensen will naturally be brighter. A boost pedal with an EQ of sorts should do the job. Crazy circuits superconductor or Zio by source audio
@ Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my questions. Very helpful!
I don't understand why the pedals I thought the video was about the gibson amp ??
Actually you can do simulated tape wobble! If you press and hold one of the footswitches while the pedal’s in effect (can’t remember which one), you get simulated tape flanging
@@cactus-mcjacktus ahh of course
nice playing :) Great sound
@@brettmckay7717 thank you
Very nice playing excellent demo I am curious did you order them stock with the A5 in the bridge or did you add it later? I am considering upgrading my wiz pick ups, but I am not sure which A5 magnet to get because obviously I am not sure of the Gas measure measurement that should be there. Sorry dictating my message, but if you have any advice on this, I would appreciate it. Thanks. 1:32
Hi, I added it later. I bought a pair of A4 mags originally. Then a A5 bridge & A2 neck for another guitar. I realised I prefer the snappy brighter bridge pickup of the A5 and the A4 neck pickup. So I put them in this guitar. The bridge measures around 8.1
Germ before Zvex?
Yes sir
@@memygtar Thank you. I'll try the same way
@@landfordream 👍
What does ‘50s wired mean? Thx
The pots are wired the way Gibson wired them in the 50s.
You make them sing mate! Great playing.
Thank you
Do you like this wah more than v846? Very curious!
Like your tone, fuzz, and reverb from the space
You're a badass 😮 teach me your voodoo ways
🙌⚡️😊
killin it!!
You up in Tombstone?
I told myself this was my last guitar video 5 videos ago. Got me with the Marshall again.
Sounds good! Thanks for the video.
what amp do you normally play through?
Usually vintage Gibson amps
cool strap who makes it?
Bought it from Amazon
@@memygtar thank you
@@memygtar can you let me know the manufacturer's name?
That Tokai looks huge on you Pedal sounds huge too I love mine Drive knobs on 11oclock Push on 1 o'clock Lead on 12 peak to taste
I bought the sc20h and 2x12 cab back in 2019. I wish I could go back in time and get the sv20. I love the sound of the jcm800 but I’ve been slowly falling in love with the plexi sound over the last couple years.
Like a mki zonk?
Just a MK1 Tonebender I think
That amp sounds good!!!
WHOA!!!!
Nice demo. Love that guitar!
i need a gibson amp
Do you have any experience with Fender clean and/or twang + Ironman?
Sorry afraid not
Some nice "Kossofy" sounds there!
Thank you
Sounds great! What speaker do you have in yours?
Thanks! The original Jensen C12R
Great playing man! Would this amp be comparable to a fender tweed deluxe in your opinion?
Thanks , an early 50s tweed I’d say very similar
I must purchase this
Tokai?🔥🔥🔥🔥
Yes sir
That sounds proper and glorious.
I’m a lefty and I play one of these upside down
Did you place a .22nf cap?
Yep
Nice sound you've got! Like the Les Paul with Bigsby
Thanks!
I have one of these i got last year and really dig it. The tremolo is incredible (much better than Fender) and it grinds pretty well when turned up. Thanks for the awesome detailed info.
Thank you!
Cogmeister is the ultimate gain/body/toneshaper.
Thanks for a great demo! I have the same amp and I'm now tempted to put a 12ay7 in mine as well. Really like your other videos as well!!
Thanks Erik 👍
Lovely sounds. What were your settings on the Cogmeister?
I think drive section, switch up and volume and gain around 11-12 o’clock
@@memygtar thanks. Mine is due for arrival imminently.
Yeah man! Sounds great !
At last. Another Cogmeister video. How are you finding it? Could you do a full demo of it please showing settings? Mine is on order but probably won't arrive for a few months. I need a fix.
Great tone 👍Are these the low wind set?
Yeah pretty low. Low 7’s for the neck mid to late 7 wind for the bridge I think
Great fuzz face build.’nice and strong sounding w/o the mud. Are you playing in a empty classroom hah?
Local hall :)
I Love your guitar! It's prefect. P90's; pickups of the Gawds! MK1 = great sounds. Thanks for demo.
Thanks for the kind words
Awesome jam!
I was wondering what the tube layout is in the Lazy J J10LC?
I don’t own that amp anymore but if I remember correctly it had 5y3gt, 2 x 6v6gt and 1 Ecc83 and a 12ay7
Check out wolftone p90' i been playing p90 guitars for years and the wolftone. Are the shit . cheers
Hello, Cool jam!! I have been enjoying playing around with the SDE-2000 last night. I do like its simple, yet effective delay modulation options. However, the phase invert switch works (the light turns on), but I don’t hear any difference in sound. What could this possibly be? Many thanks and greetings from the Netherlands, Devin
Hi I think the phase invert switch operates and is more noticeable on lower time settings. Chorus/flange settings.
@@memygtar Hey, thank you for your answer. I will have another look this evening and let you know!! -Devin
I would never recone an original speaker because of a hole. That can be easily repaired and sound as good as before. Some of the best speakers I ever heard had repairs in the cone. As long as the voice coil isn't blown or rubbing it's fine. A recone will not sound as good.
Thanks for the comment. I think the terms “better , worse, not as good” are all subjective. I agree and do like original cones, but I also like re-cones. I’ve a selection of both. I find tired old speakers along with valves can actually degrade sound quality. Still yes a good , used but not abused original Jensen is hard to beat
More sir.. more.
This song got me into the band, had it on tape
