    Hey sis! I love seeing another sister in Christ spreading the word of God and sharing the good news 🥰 I just wanted to gently share with you, out of love, that as Christians, we should be cautious about celebrating Christmas as it’s not tied to Jesus' birth and has roots in pagan traditions. I’d love to talk more about this with you if you're open to it

    • @Jippyjay
      @Jippyjay 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@kixibee I understand that the roots of Christmas do not all tie back to Jesus, but every day is an amazing day to celebrate the birth of our saviour! I do not follow any kind of evil traditions, but I use this time to glorify God and what He has done for us through His son. I choose to celebrate Christmas for its loving and Christ-centred nature, but you’re right that we do have to be careful that what we are doing is glorifying God.

    • @kixibee
      @kixibee 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ I completely understand where you're coming from, sis! It’s so beautiful that you focus on glorifying God and celebrating the birth of our Savior during this time. Every day is a gift to honor Jesus and His sacrifice for us. I just wanted to gently remind you, though, that as Christians, we should always refer back to the Word. Jesus never asked us to celebrate His birth, but to remember His resurrection. If He wanted us to celebrate His birthday, He would have made it clear in the scriptures. Please don’t be swayed by man-made traditions, especially those with pagan origins. Christmas, for example, was originally tied to the Solstice, a time when people worshipped the sun. As Jeremiah 10:2-4 warns: “Do not learn the way of the nations… For the practices of the peoples are worthless.” It’s so important that we stay true to what the Word teaches while also seeking to glorify God in all that we do. I truly appreciate your heart for Christ, and I’m always here if you’d like to chat more about this!

    It takes a lot of courage to share the gospel, especially with teenagers. I commend your fervor and willingness to do so despite any obstacles you might face at school. I was a substitute teacher for a few years, and the prospect of sharing the gospel with some of those students would be nothing less than daunting. It’s great to hear your peers being so receptive. Concerning your Q&A, while I have my own answers to these questions, some might be worthwhile addressing just in case some of your other classmates didn’t ask these: 1. If I were to start reading the Bible, where would you recommend I start? Should I start at Genesis and go cover to cover? Should I start with the Gospels/New Testament? (If so, which Gospel(s)?) 2. If I were to start going to church, how would you recommend choosing a spiritual home? Are there any red/green/beige flags I should look out for when making my decision? 3. If I were to try and research Christianity as someone completely unfamiliar with the religion, are there any authors, sources, or even other TH-cam channels you’d recommend? 4. I’ve heard many disagreements among Christians. Some say it is sinful to drink alcohol in any capacity, while others say it is only drunkenness that is wrong. Some Christians proclaim that once a person is saved, he is always saved, while others insist one can fall away. Both sides use the Bible to support their claims. How do I discern the truth when faced with these types of arguments? 5. If I were to begin sharing the Gospel, how much should I know/where should I be in my Christian walk before I start? Should I know how to confront certain arguments, like the problem of evil/suffering, or is familiarity with the Gospel message enough? People may have asked these questions at school or in your document, if so, awesome! If not, I hope these are the type of questions you were looking for as I approached them from the perspective of someone unfamiliar with Christianity. Even if you don’t use any of these, hopefully they get the mind jogging as God beckons us to “Come now, let us reason together…” Isaiah 1:18a ESV) for we should “…always [be prepared] to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you…” (1 Peter 3:15b ESV). Looking forward to what your peers and other people submitted for the Q&A!

Do you believe this?” (John 11:25-26) When you accept Jesus as your Lord, you inherit eternal life as the Holy Spirit lives inside you. I’m not sure if that’s what you’re asking, but that’s what Jesus was talking about in this verse!

    • @Ordinal_Yoda
      @Ordinal_Yoda 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @Jippyjay Yes this is true. However there is more detail when comparing these two verses based on cause and effect. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." (John 3:16) Applies at 26.

      If you don't have a relationship with Christ then how can you know him? To know him is to pray with all your heart, to read the scriptures. It changes your heart. If we live a sinful life we pull away from his love. To pray is to believe in him. Example might be if we were friends and I never talked with you then how can we be friends? John 3:16- For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

    I really liked this Proverb, especially all the points you made. I think it's really important to watch what your taking in, and I had a similar realization today of how I feel heavier after listening to non-Christian music versus worship music. I also really liked the point about watching your words, because often we don't realize we're about to say something potentially hurtful until it's already said. My friends often joke about how 'stupid' the other one is, and today I noticed it and it didn't feel good to here that said to someone else. Anyway, thank you for this bible study Jayla! It was super awesome! I think it would be cool if you did a study on maybe Psalm 139 or Psalm 27.

      Key themes we all struggle on, anxiety, weak faith, temptation etc and covering passages that discuss the themes and advice we can take from it. Like an advice through the Bible series. That would be incredible ☺️

      Hey, new to the channel, you are so sweet!! I have seen other creators choose a book (e.g., Luke or Matthew etc) and then read one chapter a day until it is finished. Helps people to get through the Bible in a way that they understand and is really enjoyable! But this was a really good video, you have definitely gained a new subscriber 💗
