I have the exact setup! but for some reason I canot ping gateway for vlans(40.1 and 30.1) and also becasue of this not able to setp the ssc certificate but agin when I go from GUI. i can see the ssc but stil the ping is not responsive! Anyone have a clue for that?

is it possible to do Authentication by the AP instead of centrally? We've had ongoing issues with our 9800's for over 2 years with guest breaking because "NAD did is unresponsive" TAC has scratched their head.

Just like ACI Cisco is best at making simple things overly complicated... smh

Hi Sir , I understood everything except VLAN part, you mentioned for Guest SVI and IP from same subnets is it how it should be configured? And on the firewall as well this SVI will be configured so i assume that the SVI IP on the firewall will be the IP helper which you configured ?

Hello, excellent video, I tried to update from version 17.03.05b to version 17.09.04a but when it goes to the switchover part the update is canceled and it does not show any error. My implementation is HA WLC9800-LC. Could it be that I can't make that jump? As I read in the documentation, it is possible.

Honestly this is the best video I have found for TACACS access to the WLC 9800 with ISE. I am still having issues which seem related to the aaa authorization commands , where the GUI login using ISE credentials fails, but displays the page " An Error occurred , Sorry, the page you are looking for is currently unavailable. Please try again later " When I use ip http authentication local it works fine, not sure what I am missing yet, but I miss the WLC 5520 and AIRE OS it was so much easier, the IOS-XE is notorious for issues... 🙄🙄... regardless this is a great video and I appreciate the time you put into this, thank you !👍👍😎

4:09 but why?? why is promiscous mode is required for ap join? i mean the controller broadcasts discovery requests, and the ap respond to those requets , i actually have wireshark captures on the controler showing it's recieving those packets, but still those ap will not join the controller , so why do we need this setting which allows OTHER vm's to sniff those packets, even though the packet clearly arrive to their destination
