Had an ancestor die here is the article from 1904. He was a brakeman on the B&O: Body Of Dead Man Identified. West Virginian. Fairmont, WV. Wed., Sept. 7, 1904. Excerpt -- As noted in yesterday's paper, the man who was run over by the train at Valley Falls had in his pocket a letterhead bearing the name of Dr. J.L.B. Jones, of Cameron, and also a certificate from a Benwood organization with the name George F. Hewitt. As soon as Dr. Jones of Cameron received the message, he wired that he would be her on No. 4. Upon his arrival he was met at the train by a representative of the West Virginian, who has know Dr. Jones for many years. The question was asked, "Do you have any idea who the man is that was killed this morning?" "I fear he is my son-in-law," he said. He then proceeded to give the reasons, which proved almost beyond question that the dead man must be Frank Hewitt. Mr. Hewitt is an electrician, but had accepted a position as fireman on the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, his work being at Wheeling. On Sunday morning he went to Terra Alta to get some tools belonging to him and he was expected home Monday night. Dr. Jones was taken to Musgrave's Undertaking , and when he caught sight of the face he said, "Yes, it is Frank; poor boy!" Frank Hewitt was about 21 years of age. His parents live at Cumberland. He was married about two years ago to Winnie, daughter of Dr. Jones, the pastor of the M.E. Church at Terra Alta. He had lived both in Elkins and Cumberland, but his health failing, he and his wife had gone to Cameron in order to regain his health. Dr. Jones telegraphed Mrs. Hewitt to come on No. 8 this morning, and the remains were taken to Terra Alta, where they were interred this afternoon.
