Nothemba Madumo | Eswatini | Swazi TV | Bop TV | Radio Bop | Woza Weekend | 4everJazz | 702 |
Nothemba Madumo is a seasoned broadcaster having worked across most platforms of Television & Radio in South Africa. She currently hosts #JazzAndBeyond on @talkradio702 & @capetalkza every Sunday from 6pm to 9pm.
Nothemba is the MD of 4everJazz (Pty) Ltd, a boutique multimedia company that specializes in bringing the jazz experience to life through events and campaigns.
"I love jazz. My Dad, Bra Tom, made sure of it - playing nothing else but Jazz in our home from when I was a baby. My Mom, Nothende, was a science, maths and music teacher - and so my taste and love for music was sealed."
"I can’t play an instrument or sing (…yet LOL) but I love to share the beauty, creativity and brilliance of those who do. '"
"In South Africa, where does one find all things jazz? Right now, I guess mainly on Sunday radio or in groups and small clubs that love and share this art form. This just doesn’t seem to do justice to this beautiful genre of music."
"Jazz forms the essence of our culture, heritage, struggle, freedom and identity."
"So, I’ve decided to start somewhere - anywhere, as long as I start!"
"So, come on in, come to my home, our home, the home of jazz in South Africa."

I just like these stories from Bra Caiphus, it's just that because of language I miss a lot. but doesn't matter so much. In particular I like it when he talks about the late bandleader/singer/saxophonist Victor Madoda Ndlazilwana because i never heard any musician talking about him. Bra Caiphus should write a book on this our past music history, it's very very important.

He is a professional, and private about his personal life. Great one my brother. We tired of being exposed to these silly, oldies with no mannerism who hide behind the word "ku guga othandayo phrase" and would do embarrassing behavioral acts trying to be relevant. We all wish we grew or had such a wise family member amongst us. God bless your show.

Just a comment on the first 5 minutes, and democracy in general : it doesn't work, and not everyone conscious is really conscious up to the level of discernment (pearls to swine), and expecting other people to be able to elevate their consciousness to your level of awareness is a fallacy, not all of us have the same access to information or rather light, so expecting all of us to speak with a single voice is a lie and further than we may think, for democracy to work there has to be a lack of perfect knowledge in the game theory sense, for it to operate, there has to be a percentage of people that don't know enough for them to buy into the illusion of voting, or in other words to give up their power to the system. Blessings and light to you two, great episode so far.
