Will confirm this technique does work still yet as of the april 20 17 release version of "The Fire Fades" edition. App Vers 1.11 Regulation version 1.30. I will confirm the OP describing this as "Probably the most time effective way to kill this boss." is just plain wrong. Doing this method with its requirement to backtrack all the way to the illusionary wall to get the great wolf to spawn, and then (which the video does not show) back down out of the temple, down the rope bridge, dodging Millwood knights on very treacherous vine platforming section is begging to get killed . Doing so safely (and not just running past everything) I ended up with >18000 souls and the whole process took well over an hour. Even if you DO run past everything, (except for the one treant you have to fight in order to get the ladder to drop down) still takes close to the same amount of time simply because its such a long walk between point A & point B. Just fighting the boss normally takes a fraction of that time, so its most certainly not time effective by any definition of the term.
Seems to have been changed now though. I tried it today, and my arrows literally hit the fog. However I believe there is another way to cheese it that involves dropping down from where you encounter the first guy with crow claws, landing on the invisible hitbox above the ice to the side of the fog gate, and firing down. You don't even have to backtrack anywhere to do it.
I attempted that cheese before trying this method. I could never get it to work because its a weird spot that kills you almost the second you drop down. Not saying it does not work, Only that in 12 attempts I could never get any other result than immediate death (way faster than any death called by falling too far into an unsurvivable fall). This method, despite how time consuming and lame it is, did work as of 4.20.17
This was so much fun! I've fought this boss a number of times but this was so different, having to set up poison mist, running through many enemies and poisoning again being mindful of his attacks. I had only one ashen estus, teeth-biting! Thanks for this fun!
You should use the storyteller staff instead. It deal WAY more damage than the pyromancy. On NG you can almost kill the crystal sage with one cast of toxic with it. But good find! Cheese Souls is my favorite hobby
Hah! I guess I',m not the only one who did this! If you killed the Champion Gravetender, resting at the bonfire won't respawn him. Using Black Serpent pyro you can easily kill the wolves and the Gravetender at the entrance of the bossfight.
But that's poison mist. Also poison & toxic stacks, you can also use toxic mist. Also storyteller staff poison does more damage than both poison and toxic, but doesn't stack with normal poison. Hope this saves some of your sanity
amazing video loved the yellow man lets see more of him!
this man is the side character of horror movies a necessity
Hear me out. This but the cashout inside of it.

Nice shoots bro 🔥
Name game?
It's not
I thought of a jumppad tech also. Put a jumppad on the floor, and a mine on the ceiling above it. Works best in a doorway 😂
i love how you have the same laugh the first two times 😂
It's literally the exact same - same wheeze before it too lol
Same air gasp after
Lmao that's funny 😂
What the fingers of geometry dash players look like. 👍

"cast toxic mist" > casts poison mist god dammit!

how the hell do you get back to the boss after you summon the wolf
oh boy its the cheesiest
or you know just go there and actually kill the boss ?

maybe they fixed it since the video was made?

J e s u s C h r i s t, I would just. not. have the patience. How do you even go about figuring out this method.
Neat :)
