I know this is a 6 year old video but I just got my hands on one of these Smoke S3 rods this year. I love this rod! It has an extra fast tip but I found it soft enough to load up and launch a 1/4 oz SB a country mile. This tapers into a ton of backbone. Lightweight, sensitive. Couldn’t ask for a better rod.

I never understood needing over 7 feet of rod for fishing unless your catching 20 + pound fish..

Bought one of these 7’2” because that’s what was available. When I saw how fat the blank was above the handle and the XF action, I was worried it would be like a broomstick. To my surprise, this rod is incredibly light and loads up nicely on the cast. I was able to launch 1/4 baits incredibly far. I have over 60 rods in my arsenal, this one quickly became my favorite…greats for jigs, soft plastics on Texas and Carolina rigs, spinnerbaits and has enough backbone to handle pitching and flipping. Quantum hit it out of the park with this rod.

Grease port for the main gear would be a good idea…

What is the lug size?

I have the same combo, almost. I have the 7' 2" medium heavy, extra fast. Mostly to jig walleye/burbot. Same reel in 30 size, which I switch back from my lamiglas redline series steelhead rod.

I have a Quantum Pulse Bait caster. My friend bought me for a Birthday present. My 1st Baitcaster. I starting to really like Bait caster reels. I want to move up to the Smoke S3 PT. I think the combo would work great for me. Just don't know how much the rod and reel combo go for and whats a great deal on one. Could you give me some info on where and how much you paid for both. Will start Tournament fishing in the spring. My Hero is KVD the best largemouth bass fisherman of all times. Not from Texas, Florida or Oklahoma. He's from Michigan. Shawn

Good content man. Love dirty jigs,love that 1/2 oz swim jig . Probably my favorite jig from them. They are all made with quality components the paint jobs are unmatched for the price per jig. Central Illinois angler here, subbed!
