If any of the above rings true for you we totally get it! We 100% used to feel that way. Until one day we realized that we were busting our butts 24/7 and making very little PROFIT.
And if we weren't making a profit we couldn't continue to run our beloved wedding planning business.

What were some of the software organisation and planning tools you used for your backend? Also, when i click the link, it carries me to a page for payment, but doesnt specify what we would be paying for.
Loved this. It's so easy to get burned out in this business. I think its so important to have a mentor even if it's not another planner and as long as that person is also in the wedding business. Learned so much from my mentor who is a floral designer, one of the main things being that I need to be picky with my clients.

Hey! I wondered how this process goes for putting together the “A team”. You meet with the client and figure out what they want, check the availability of your best matched vendors, then you present this to the client? I suppose what I’m wondering, is do you ask the vendors to save the date for your client? What if they get get another offer for the same date, during the process of the client making a decision?

we don't charge our vendors a commission but some planners do.

Ladies, thank you very much for your content. You are helping us a lot. If you don't mind me asking I would like to know your opinion on something. Before you got famous for your work and recognized as the top events planners in the US and globally, how did the right clients found you. Do you recommend subscribing to all the directories/ wedding websites such as wedding wire, june bug etc? You do provide a lot of info on how to book the client who approached our agency but how to generate more enquiries in the first place?
So glad to hear that our videos have been helping you! You've asked such a great question and our answer is networking! The more you can create relationships with other planners and vendors the better! We've found that word-of-mouth referrals are the best way to get new (great!) clients. So instead of putting your money into advertising on publications we recommend that you put your money towards building relationships- take people out to dinner/drinks/coffee (when that's safe again), send them gifts, schedule virtual hangouts, etc. but focus your marketing time and resources in that direction and we promise it will pay off!!

Thanks for this video! A few things stood out to me...1) You priced your services much more than other planners in your area. And 2) Don't be afraid to charge what you need no matter where you are. This is currently what I dealing with. Even though I am in a small market/town with others who are not charging a lot, I know that I need to charge more because of the time that I am putting in. (I am a wedding cake designer, btw.). But at what point do you have to really consider your market to determine if the market could bear your pricing? Or should you test the market and see? :-)
Yay cakes!! Such an amazing art form! Thanks for your question. Depending on your area there can certainly be a ceiling cap. That's one that you kind of have to feel out. If you can't get people to pay your pricing time and time again you might have to bring it down. If that's the case think about neighboring towns. Maybe the clientele there is a bit more high end or maybe you notice that there is are ton of destination weddings that come to your area from other cities and those folks have higher budgets. If that's the case start to target those markets. Find those planners and vedors and get to know them. Create relationsihps with those folks and let the referals come pouring in!! :) Sometimes you have to get creative to find the high end clients willing to pay those prices but they are out there!

I was wondering, if your client needs help with a service from the 'additional list' and they are paying extra, do you send them a new contract everytime?
if they end up adding something from the additional options section we create an addendum contract. So basically it's just a smaller "add on" that outlines the new service they are adding to their existing contract. A new payment schedule and then it says that all legalities from the original contract are still in effect. Does that make sense?

I LOVE WEDDINGS. Seriously. I am an Army veteran and I feel like I need the joy that wedding planning and designing brings. Something that I tell people is "Joy can be hard to come by, therefore we must embrace it fully." I am having a hard time building the success that allows me to feel good financially in my passion.

When it comes to time management, I struggle the most with feeling like I don’t have enough hours in the day to get everything done that I want to do. I just started task batching so hopefully that will help.
yah, we totally get that! Sometimes we find that when we just have too many things on our list we have to take a weekend day to get caught up or something like that. But a lot of these tools should help you be more productive and make the most of your weekday time!
No, I am not fine with my prices at all. Can you do a video where you play : client-planner . The scenario would be a prospect to whom we have to explain or sell our services to. I struggle with presentation of my services so that the client can understand and feel the need of a planner.

100%! It's really important to understand the cap in your area. But also don't be afraid to push that a bit! You might be surprised and you also might attract more of the destination clientele!

yes! we always recommend increasing pricing at least once a year. That said if you are making the living you want and feel adequately compensated for the work you do 🙌

The last lead I had said that I was too expensive because she just needed someone to “tell everyone what to do for the processional”. I couldn’t believe Alia actually said that in the video!!! Yes! You just have to remember that there ARE clients out there who will hire you at the rates you deserve!!!

I love that you ask your viewers questions and that you really want to hear what they have to say. So many TH-camrs give off a “listen to what I have to say” vibe. It’s very refreshing. Anyway to answer your questions: 1. I’m a country girl all the way. Nature is king in my world. 2. My biggest desire is to design an “secret garden” theme 3. My favorite part of a wedding is definitely when the bride walks down the aisle. I breathe a sigh of relief every time it happens cause my biggest fear is that one of them change their mind at the last minute. Once they are at the alter, all is well and I can breathe easier.
