    Good test. Maybe speed up or edit out the long uneventful highway parts. Part of what you are suggesting is that it knows specific locations rather than a purely general ability and I think that can actually work but they might already more or less be doing that if part of its input is the GPS location. A neural net can do a blend of general and local ability. But the more specialized knowledge the more they might have to manually make decisions for every special location in the world. And they are sort of doing that. Chuck's turn has a series of similar turns along that highway and they have started running cars through all those locations many times. For years basically.

    FSD has problems in NYC at night: 2:45 FSD has missed an easy right turn (for a human) 13:35 FSD stalled on right turn, Human must intervene 14:50 FSD totally fails at a blocked road. Human *must* intervene FSD cannot anticipate how many other cars are around it, and then take action *earlier* . FSD cannot go in reverse, that is a big problem.

    I cannot see the high curb on the video either. So you would probably need stereo vision for that. Cameras could provide stereo images, but this might be an edge case. Not sure how you see it. Do you really see it or just know it is there? Oh, and last column situation seemed fine on the video. Watching it calmly from my seat, I say it would make it!. :)

      I showed a picture of the curb in a previous video below, somewhere in the beginning portion of the video. th-cam.com/video/uqcZAt_4BxY/w-d-xo.html. I am trying new versions at this curb to see when this will be picked up by the FSD. I feel this is similar to pot holes and other drops on the road that the FSD is not picking up yet.

    • @Kaipiso
      @Kaipiso 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@louisPE I understand that, and it could be seen from another angle clearly. But from this angle I see what we see on camera. It does not look like a curb. It just looks like a different coloring of the plain road. So I don't know how would any version solve it if cameras don't see it at all. Yes, it could be similar to potholes. But at least we usually recognize potholes, and see that they differ from just asphalt patches. But I don't see this as a curb... is just bad, needs some paint maybe... no idea.
