Hey i dont know if your still there. But my terrabye wont be detected on my msi laptop. And feeeze my computer startup. But when i unplug it. The computure then unfreeze on start up. Do you have anything i can do for this?

Too bad the vid does not explain what component this is. If it were a resistor or smd fuse, what was its value? He clearly knows these 3 components are suspicious. While talking of a "short" it is actually an "open" circuit therefor the unit does not respond to anything. It doesn't receive its power supply voltages. Not so EZ if you don't know this. For anybody else; check the usb cable or better first swap it with an absolute sure working good cable (new is 7€) before diving into repairs.

Before I give it a go, I do have a question on tab about this. I have a 4TB Seagate drive and a 8TB Seagate drive, both are external HDDs (and the 8 being a bulky one) and they are acting up. My 8TB one is less than a year old and it's not working. I also have the 4TB one which was in use for quite a long time suddenly had just stopped working entirely, which is my problem now. Can finding out if it needing an adapter part bring something back that lasted 5+ years?

I found an old WD Caviar IDE at work in the "Wipe" pile, damn thing almost killed my beloved Windows XP drive wiper, thankfully the 20 year old power supply didn't detonate. The drive has since been sentenced to death by hard drive shredder company

What could be the problem when the read-write head is not on the platter but the disk makes noise when and says no disk in device?

I have a Toshiba HDD that doesn't turn on when it is connected. I already tried using two different cables, so I hope it's the same problem with the adapter, but I don't know which kind of adapter it is, and I don't want to risk my data being seen and copied if I send the HDD to a data recovery business.

Hey I was wondering if you could help me out. Idk if it's an Xbox thing or my hard drive. I got the Seagate Xbox 4tb hard drive. It used to work before. I will say 5 years ago. When I was using it on my Xbox one. Now that I have an Xbox series x. I connect it, it does turn on everything but the Xbox is not detecting it. But when I plug It on my computer it does. I had looked up online and many people have been having the same issue. What I found online says it's corrupted but doesn't say how to uncorrupted

If your jumpers are set incorrectly you will also get a similar sound. Not the exact same symptom, but similar. Almost like a spinning/click noise.

Hi, What to do if the LED is on but the drive is not recognizing on any desktop or laptop? Sometimes, if it does show up, the drive shows up as and unidentified/unknown USB but I can't seem to access it in the windows explorer or disk management. Any suggestions?

Hey my 2 TB western digital hard drive makes these weird noises after like a day and a half when i unplug it and plug it back in again it makes these weird noises kinda like the ones in the video except they happen every few minutes and the hard drive has to whir back up again after each noise
