Like an WWII plane sound 😱😱😱😱.
great driving
That thing seems like a handful to drive!!!!
This man drove this thing like he was being chased by the cops, loved every second of it
Train her well, and bring her to the Dark side.
Well done Sam! Thanks for sharing!
Nice, driven like it’s supposed to.
Fabulous. Nicely done Sam. My son is only six… but we are now counting down to Seven! We have a Brooklands screen and full harnesses, so he still needs to grow a bit.
Tadaaaa haha love it
That's what life is all about ,enjoying every available opportunity ,family-friends -nice people , i have 4 grandkids that just love to ride in my LOCOST and i just can't go anywhere in it without my wife ! ( she insists ).Nice video Sam .
Always wondered what these little 1600s sounded like. Turns out, they're really good and makes me think it's the one to go for! I look forward to making memories like these one day myself, thank you for sharing yours with us, Sam
lovely!
It's all about the experience, isn't it? And this one was wonderful I bet.
Lucky guy.
Sam-I am a long time fan of yours. Not sure what I like better, seeing you catch that oversteer at the 2:00 min mark, or seeing you share this drive with your daughter. Yeah-it’s the daughter part for sure. Very cool. Thanks man
This is awesome Sam!
Extremely sweet memory you've recorded here. As another father of a daughter, this video (and the written piece it paired with) really cut deep. Thank you for what you do.
Ha! Looks like a, well, hoot..
Simply Amazing!!!
IT SOUNDS SO MAD
how does one loan a vintage racing bmw from bmw is what i'm curious about
thats how a bmw has to be driven lol
Good work, Sam. The way that car gets squirrelly makes me a little scared inside. I'm amazed this has gotten so few views and 1% bothered to like it.
Sam Smith is a god damn hero. If his literary skills weren’t enough, the man is one hell of a charming bastard on the camera, and then of course he puts out a video like this that shows how he can saw a wheel. I’d love to see a R&T series where Sam is fully funded to chase the racing series championship of his choice. That would be an epic adventure.
Now I know why it slides so much in assetto corsa.... and the rear tires were like 15 inches wide. These things are like the loudest car on track as heard from the side/rear , but sounds like a deaf wookie with a megaphone from the front.
No offense Sam, but I'd love to have seen Sam Posey driving. As you know, he too drove the 'Batmobile' for BMW. I attended the 1975 Six Hours of Riverside IMSA event where Han Stuck and Dieter Quest placed 1st/2nd with the Bimmers. Later, read an article where Sam Posey said he could NOT get his head around how deep, late into turn 6 and 7 Stuck would leave his braking or the speed he carried thru the turns. Stuck attributed this to the new 1st generation Bosch anti lock brake system, said he delayed braking until the very last moment, sat on the brake pedal as hard as he could triggering the anti lock system allowing him to drive down into the apex while still on the brakes. A shame you were given a car with worn tires and faulty brakes. Surprised BMW N/A would do that?? LOVED the video, especially coming down the Corkscrew. Looks like 2-3 turns lock to lock counter steering!! Whee, what fun!!!
Next time someone tells me "Racing isnt a sport..." I'm going to show them this! You drove it like you planned on stealing the car from BMW...
Three things I have learned watching my friend Sam Smith wrangle this beast 1. The BMW straight six produces God's own music as heard through the Devils' headphones 2. Sam is a helluva driver, full opposite lock in an expensive old race car owned by BMW is no joke 3. Porsche 911's are fast
#2!
Oh this is tremendous. Very nicely driven, Sam!
Excellent noises.
That 911 looked like a handful, just as it should be. The 3.0CSL sounded glorious, but I'm biased, I have two M30 powered Bimmers. They of course are pretty docile by comparison.
So many fine and glorious noises!
B O O G I T Y !!!
