Jinju Paints - Arts, Crafts & Unboxing Channel
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 21 ธ.ค. 2021
Welcome!
My name is Jinju, and I'm making my first steps into a hobby I longed for quite some time now: resin figure painting. Later, I'd like to try printing 3D models too. I'm not in a position to have this as a full-time occupation, nor have I the finances to support this quite expensive hobby, nevertheless, I hope you'll stick around for occasional videos and learn together with me!
If you're more experienced in figure painting, please take your time to comment suggestions how I can improve my skills!
I'm trying to expand my skillset, so you'll see me practice drawing and painting paint by numbers painting too.
I'll also share with you occasional figure unboxings of anime, Star Wars or figures of other origin.
Thank you!

3D printing and painting Quinlan Vos from Star Wars
#starwars #3dprinting
Welcome!
Today I bring you a character who is very dear to my heart, the EU/Legends jedi master Quinlan Vos. There is not much known about him in the current/Disney canon aside from a casual mention of his name in one of the Kenobi episodes and a novel (Dark Disciple), as well a Clone Wars episode, where he goes on a mission with Obi-Wan. This also means there is not much official merchandise about him, which is a pity, as he is a very cool and interesting character. He is the master of the beloved twi'lek jedi Aayla Secura.
Ispired by talented people and fanarts, I wanted to print myself a statue about him, and that's what you can watch in this video now.

[product review] Mitsubishi Uni Pin Fine Art Sepia Markers Test
Excellent work! You show a strong grasp of the fundamental skills so many people lack in this artform. Your color choices are intelligently made, your coverage and coat quality is rock solid, and your fine detail work shows a great natural affinity. I am excited to see you develop more knowledge, practice, and confidence using highlights and shadows, as well as the multitude of techniques for adding textures and weathering! I will be watching! ❤❤❤
Thank you so much! I'll work on expanding my skillset!
I'm glad someone said it. Nendos always seemed like a consolation prize, can't afford the $200 scale? well, here's a chibi version for $30.... then $40... then $60. Some of the new ones are around 10,000 yen! Might as well just get the scale at that point and that's BEFORE you look into the after market prices.
Sooo true! I'm especially dissapppointed after seeing so many older series and characters getting nendo/chibi releases instead of regular scale figures! WHY?!
Best Sepia fineliners! Underated pens, underated video!!
Thanks! I liked the fineliners, the brush was a dissappointment though :(
but she can't get a hint .
No, I meant the genre genre has an H attached to it and that’s the type each of those Those shows are that’s what they are. Couldn’t say it because I could cause some trouble
Oh, I see now. It is a bit spicy, but not harmful. :)
@@jinjupaints my mother and I beg to differ but what ever.
That is a cool model, and great paint job.
Thank you so much!
there is a story type for this kind of work and I'm not even going to say it but if you do , just a heed's up.
I'm afraid I fon't fully understand. You mean a new anime like this is in works and will be released soon?
What is the story about ?
The protagonist of the story is Tenchi Masaki, a regular teenageer, who encounters several alien girls who all try to fight for his love in a weird romance comedy. :)
@@jinjupaints oh that's is messy.
@@AlexandraPrater-e1q it's funny, mostly, but there is also drama, especially in the movies. Worth watching.
Never seen this show before what is it about?
Hi! Well, it's a space romance comedy mecha kind of mixture. It's set in a semi-distant future where the Earth had been attacked by an alien race called the Jovians and humans live on colonies. They try to stand against these aliens with huge robots. The main hero is a young man called Akito, the love interest of Yurika and how he deals with the hardships of the fight.
I love watching you paint the kits!! It’s just so satisfying!
aww thank you! 🤗🤗
Hey, I like the Sailor Moon iron bead sprite in the background! Yes, I remember this show. I bought the series on DVD and I watched it through twice, but it didn't really get me very excited as I thought it would. I never got around to watching the movie too. Your end result looks nice, but it's a shame about the cape. I am currently building a Deedlit sofubi kit from Record of Lodoss War. She has these large shoulder guards, you know? The figure comes with a large cape that is supposed to fit over those shoulder guards, and the cape itself has even larger shoulder guards. I am afraid I might not be able to line everything up properly.
Hehe, thank you, that was a gift from my friend! :) Good luck with the Deedlit kit! I was tempted to buy her on e2046 when it was in stock, but I always found something else I was waiting for a longer time. :) Maybe one day. Can you pin sofubi kits? Or maybe extend it with putty/clay to make it bigger? Maybe that will help attaching the cape.
@@jinjupaints Pinning sofubi requires some extra steps, since the parts are hollow. I usually fill the parts with paper clay to keep the shape. If you use epoxy putty for the ends, then you can pin the parts that way. Tell you what... I was going to hold off on uploading the first Deedlit video for a while, but I can go ahead and upload that maybe today and you can see how they are built.
@@stevethefishdotnet looking forward to it!
@@jinjupaints I just uploaded it. It's the first video on my channel now.
Checking it out!
Great review,thankss :)
You are welcome. The new Karl-Heinz Schneider figure review is coming soon! :)
can't wait for that :)
@@michaelbrata5036 it's up! 😊
Love the video! Thanks for showing your process
Thank you! I'm glad you liked it!
Good luck in the competition!
Thank you! ❤
Those stands look nice. I have no budget for a 3D printer, though.
thank you! I know printers are not cheap, when I bought mine, Anycubic had a sale so I was fortunate.
Lum-chan turned out nicely. I assume you do not have an airbrush... I don't have the guts to try to hand-paint a garage kit like this! My advice for you is to buy a spray can of matte clear acrylic to go over your kit and to seal in the decals. Have you ever used artists' pastel chalk? After a matte clear coat, using pastel chalks in the recessed areas would add a lot of depth to her hair. I've resumed work on my Nadia sofubi kits. Vinyl is very difficult to use sandpaper on, so now I am trying to remove seamlines with puttying and sanding. It's a long process because I am not using a primer on these kits in order to use the V-Color vinyl paint on them. By the way, do you still upload to Odysee? I looked for this video on there and did not see it.
Oh, I do spray them once everything is finished, I just don't show it on video. :) They are long enough already, it's listed among the used materials though. ;) But thanks for the tip about the chalk! I stopped uploading to Odysee a while ago, I lost the amount of credits or what they are called and it refuses me tu upload any further. :S
Nice work. Beautiful paint work. As an airbrush guy I admire your skills with paint brush.❤
Thank you! ☺
great review, thanks!
thank you for watching!
It's a great figure. I got it around the time it came out. Unfortunately it's been packed away in a moving box for too long. In 2015 Disney tried to boycott Slave Leia as misogynistic. Bruh, she infiltrated Jabba's palace to rescue the man she loved, killed the slug that forced her into the dancer outfit with the chain hanging from her neck, and fought side-by-side with Luke. This was a series of girl power moments that all Star Wars fans respected. Only misogynists see misogyny everywhere.
Couldn't agree more! She is THE strong female representation we need.
Nice work. There is now actually an official "Ayanami Blue" acrylic paint by Turner Acryl Goache for her hair color. So far there is no official paint for Asuka's hair color.
thank! I didn't know that she has her official color. :)
Oh great! You are on Odysee. Good for you! I'm going to direct viewers to your Odysee channel in my next update video. I try to spotlight hobbyist channels on Odysee.
Oh, thank you!
Don't mind me... I found your channel by doing a search for Nadia figures. Your previous one (the one by Wave) had better preshading on the fleshtone. This one has a nicer pose, nice underboobs, dramatically-posed clothing, but the skintone is too light. I'd love to build this as a resin kit, but I wouldn't buy this pre-painted kit.
thank you for your comment! Yes, this one is has one of the lightest skin colors for the character, I agree. I myself would love to work on Nadia garage kits, unfortunately the fulfillment on e2046 takes so long for a Nadia figure that I rather bought the original statues, :(
@@jinjupaints Actually, there are two Nadia figures on E2046 I have on my wishlist that are over 70% of their requirement. I think those will probably become available soon. If you are up for the challenge of building a sofubi kit, Tsukuda made three Nadia sofubi figure kits in 1:6 scale. I started three of them many years ago and I am now motivated to get back to them. I do not see anyone building anime sofubi figures on YT. My channel may be the only one.
@@stevethefishdotnet I sure am. :) I managed to buy two soft vinyl kits from Neokyo, one for Nadia and one for Electra, I definitely will begin working on one of them this summer. :) I'll check out your channel too!
@@jinjupaints Most people don't have the patience for sofubi kits. The nice thing is that if they do not require sanding seamlines like resin. If made properly, they should be smooth all around. Just stay away from Thai recasts. Looks like you found my Minmay sofubi already. I've done a 1:5 Devil Hunter Yohko as well as big 1:4 Dirty Pair set that turned out nicely (despite many setbacks). Then I have the three Nadia sofubi I need to return working on.
@@stevethefishdotnet I like that you work on older, legacy series and characters. That's what motivates me as well, to make figures from my old favorites. I have a couple coming up next. :)
Good find on the resin kit of the cook girl! For the Aizu figure of Nadia wearing her "Southern island" white curtain dress, the same sculpt was made as a resin garage kit by Cherryblossom. I built and painted it for a build video series on my channel. If you go to my channel and search for "Cherryblossom Nadia," you'll find the four videos for the build. I age-restricted the videos due to the nudity involved as the kit is pretty well-detailed, with the clothing attaching to her sculpted body. The final figure is at around the 51 minute mark of the 4th video. I have to say that despite being colorblind, I think I did a better job for her fleshtone and her eyes. I also have some Nadia sofubi figure kits I began working on six years ago. I got them out last night to maybe try resuming work on them.
You're right. That skintone is just weird. This is why I don't buy PVC figures of Nadia. They never seem to get her skintone right. Some make her nearly Caucasian-looking. I have no idea why recent Nadia merchandise wants to whitewash her because the old '90s merch has her proper, beautiful, dark brown skintone.
So true. She is a great, brown skinned character representation in anime and I loved how natural that was back than, without feeling forced. Sadly, each manufacturer uses different shades for her.
@@jinjupaints Yes. Everything is forced now. At least as far as Hollywood goes.
Yeah, those eyes are not good. The rest of the sculpt is great though.
Yes. XD I only look at it from afar, then it's not so weird.
Hwo do you make the decals?
I don't make them, I buy them, usually from e2046.com.
Considering this because I can’t paint eyes very small. This has been helpful.
Oh, I'm glad! This is definitely something that makes the job a lot easier!
Love the ending montage! <3
Sheryl's face looks weird in this EXQ figure, which is why I bought the Ranka Lee one which is also EXQ. However, if you're interested, you should look out for another Sheryl EXQ with different costume, but I highly doubt there is still available out there.
I generally have issues with Sheryl's face in many of the figures. Despite the artstyle of Frontier being beautiful, she is often portrayed quite ugly, long-faced with weird eyes and mouth and nose not really in proportion. I agree that Ranka's figure from the same line is much much better,
@@jinjupaints same here. Sheryl may have style anf charisma, but I couldn't even tell if she was really that attractive. I am more of a Ranka fan, and all her figures from other lineups were very tempting to buy. She resembles all the qualities of the idol unlike Sheryl, though the Ichiban Kuji Sheryl with the flag one catches my attention, which I've watch from your unboxed review channel.
@@lancecorgos683 totally agree. That figure is gorgeous. I do have another figure of her that I like, I bought it from a fellow fan second hand, I might do a short clip of that later. :)
@@jinjupaints that's cool. Their rarity is what makes them valuable.

Stop saying that all the time you did it the best of your ability and your learning every day, so please just keep on practicing you’ll do great
Thanks! It's just dissappointing to see the effort not presenting itself in a more likeable figure. But I guess that's how we grow and learn.

Can you give us a summary about the show please
Basically this is a short painting video about a miniature anime figure from a classic animated series.
she's not ugly she's very lovey .
thank you!
I never seen them before where did you find them?
this is a vintage, very old figure that was released probably at the end of the 80-ies or sometime in the 90-ies. I bought it from mandarake.co.jp.
@@jinjupaints I don’t think I can access that site but you think there is anime stores that might sell it as well?
@@AlexandraPrater-e1q well, if they have second-hand items, maybe. These are hard to find unopened, they are usually rare items sitting on a dusty shelf somewhere and sold later.
@@jinjupaints i’ll take your advice and try to look around maybe at yard sale maybe in the summer we’ll see
@@AlexandraPrater-e1q that's actually a good place to start! Good luck!
