Pros and Cons of TEFL vs CELTA | Personal experience
- Thinking about teaching English as a foreign language?
- Unsure where to start?
Perhaps, like me when I began teaching, you've seen that there are different courses to get you qualified. There are hundreds of TEFL courses out there, and a CELTA, which can seem expensive. But what's the difference? In this video, we share our personal experiences of taking both the TEFL and the CELTA. We discuss cost, time, what's involved, and accreditation.

Can you take TElLF online part time afternoon time ? And how should non english speakers preper ?
Yes! There are many online part time TEFL courses (with and without the face-to-face part of the course). However, as mentioned in the video, I'd suggest a CELTA more worthwhile, depending on your needs. I'd recommend English as a second language speakers make sure they have at least a certified B2 level of English, as you'll need this in order to teach. Perhaps taking a test like the PTE or IELTS would be beneficial.
@ELTcpd is TEFL enough to teach in the middle east ? And any recomend for course to get to B2 level or C1 english?
Thank you for sharing this 🙏
Thank you for sharing this 🙏 ❤️
Why don't you teach english grammar on youtube?
Great question! We train teachers on this channel (not language learners) but we have a new channel coming in 2025 to prepare students for exams 😄. If you're looking for grammar-led teacher training videos, we'll be sure to release some soon. Thanks for your feedback!
Thank you for sharing this 🙏 ❤️

Thanks so much for your lovely comment! Glad you enjoyed the video :)
Thank you for your dedication to helping teachers and students in their journey of teaching and learning 🙏
Hi, thanks for making this video and demonstrating the AI coach tool, it's very cool. Not sure if you noticed, but the audio when you show the AI tool in action is very low. I had to turn the volume way up to hear it. Other than that it was a great video, thanks
Thanks so much for watching and for letting us know. This was one of our very first videos, so we've updated our audio equipment since then - fingers crossed it's much better now, but have a watch and let us know if not 😀
That's brilliant! I'll give it a try 🙌
Glad you found it useful :-) Let us know how you get on!
Thank you so much, teacher Billie, for this informative conversation.
Thank you for listening! 😃
It's amazing! Thank you for sharing this with us 🙏
Hello Coach Jago, I'm interested in your Udemy course and would love to learn more about it. Would you be available for a quick call to discuss strategies for getting the most out of the course and achieving success?
I wish you have pulled out a phone and asked Annie what superpower she would like to have. I'm really interested in seeing more of the actual process in class, how would you coordinate students all using their phones together etc. Would it be done alone, pairs, in groups or as the whole class. I'd love to see a live example in a classroom of AI being used.
We'll work on getting a recording of a teacher using some of these tools in the classroom - a great idea! You can guide students to use a tool like Annie for self-study, or allocate a certain amount of time for students to work on this individually/in pairs/in groups in class, depending on the space you have (you'd need to spread out if students were practising their listening or speaking, for example). It's always useful to get feedback from students on what they think of these tools, so you could also set it as a homework or a critical analysis task, where students compare what answers Annie gave depending on the response/prompt etc.
Very helpful tool! Thank you for sharing this 🙏
Thanks for your comment! Hope you find it useful in your lessons 🙂
Great tool! Thank you so much for sharing. Best wishes
Thanks for your comment 😄Glad you find this tool useful! Please do share with other teachers you think might find these resources helpful.

This is great to hear! Hope you enjoy using the tool 😀
Great video!
Thank you!
It's gonna improve my lessons. Thanks a lot.
You're welcome! We'll have more videos like this coming every week :)
You would do well to include in the video notes the different topics brought up in the video; i.e., the 12 points used by online designers, and the address of the speaker's blog.
Great questions, Billie and Tyson, you're so articulate and good at explaining things!
That means a lot, Karen. Thanks.
Great episode!
Thanks for your feedback!
Wonderful episode. Thanks both!
Thanks for listening!
One of the most interesting talks I have heard recently, and not only on inclusion in ELT but also a sharp analysis of the sector in general.
Thanks for your kind words, Patrizia!
I assume E2Language gets permissions from publishers when they convert activities from printed textbooks to digital ones. It's right? We must all act in accordance with copyright rules if not only the publishing industry but the entire education sector are to thrive.
Hi Patricia! Yes, E2Language often do contracted projects where they digitize products/materials for publishers. You're right in saying this way, the whole education sector can thrive!
interesting chat. not sure why the push is so heavy for AI
Can't know how I stopmed onto this. All in all Damn good clip 🥇. I also have been watching those rather similar from mStarTutorials and kinda wonder how you guys create these stuff. MStar Tutorials also had cool info about similiar things on his channel.
