TCC Episode 7: High Water Mark

Headed back down to the gravel bar to see what there was to see, and it's GONE! Who'd've thought? Waterways rise!? Whacky, right? Storm flooding must be a profound mystery not unlike the Sphinx, and we may never know just how rain occurs unless a prominent news outlet tells us.

9" in White Thorn, 6" in Dinsmore, 6" in Willow Crick. Stopped by Berry Summit and headed up East Fork of Willow Creek today on the way back from the coast. Torrential rain continues to fall on our inland east-county Humboldt area today, with what looks like a slight tapering tomorrow, as the stalled out AR heads further across the continent. The creeks are rippin'! The rain is drippin'. Withou...

Atmospheric River or Atmospheric Stream? Initial assessment of this stormageddon has most North Coast denizens feeling a bit underwhelmed. Will the storm's round 2 & 3 prove the naysayers merely horses in the barn? Or will the rest of the week be mostly pretty regular, if not a tad bit "early" for some weather... #bombcyclone #emergencymanagement #emergencyservices #ruralemergency #ruralnatural...

In this episode "Rural Calm Before the Rural Storm," the word "rural" is repeated far too many times ahead of tomorrow's predicted deluge. More prep stuff. Quick math on the '64 Flood with fancy numbers. Batten down the hatches and travel safe if you must travel at all!

Thanks so much Basho! Love your insights.
Antecedent conditions are much better than 1964 or 1997. The forecast will switch back and forth, and it could end up going south or switching back and forth. Thanks for doing this, Basho.
I agree, this is too early in the year for a 64 or 97 scale impact. If we get another bombogenesis that hits Eureka square in the mouth again a month from now? Very different story. Thanks, MB! Still a Discraft guy over here. ;)
