      It’s natural - especially if we’ve been trained into setting goals that overwhelm us or are not what we really want. Our goals should never discourage us, merely focus us. You’ve given me an idea for a future video - thank you.

    I grew up naturally organized and a "Neat Freak" but always surrounded by hoarders who continually lose things and who only feels comfortable in a mess. I can't help them or set examples for them to follow. At age 65 I need to never clean up after slobs again ! 😮 I spent a life time enabling others who Never picked up a broom and refused to declutter so I wasted YEARS picking up the pieces "literally" after others 😢 this has gone far beyond "co dependence"😮

  • @voiceoftruthmin
    @voiceoftruthmin 26 วันที่ผ่านมา

    I’ve been unorganized my whole life! When I can’t find something, I have always chalked it up to major frustration. I’ve never counted the cost of “time” that has been robbed from me looking for something. I’m so glad to hear that I’m not the only one that missed spending quality time with my kids because I was ALWAYS having to clean. THAT is the time that you don’t get back and can’t really put a price tag on, because it is priceless. 😢

    • @aprilbraggaboutlife
      @aprilbraggaboutlife 26 วันที่ผ่านมา

      No, we can’t get past time back, but we can use the lessons we learn to make our present and future time more precious - by acknowledging our regrets or pain, and listening to and honoring our true values and desires. Our future can always be better than our past - with courage and intention.

  • @michelleperea7407
    @michelleperea7407 27 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Yes I’m naturally organized even as a kid. I think some are just inherently better at it. But having less does make it so much easier to maintain and manage. Most don’t realize that having less does improve your quality of life.

    Looking for lost items is a big one. I’ve been trying to talk with my kids about this because it seems to be an issue with at least once a day when everyone’s searching for something frantically and it really does waste a lot of time. We feel like we don’t have time to organize it or find a solution, but in reality finding that solution would save us a ton of time.

    April, excellent insight re: energy management. I first came across the idea of "Time Affluence" when I took Yale's popular (and free) course, The Science of Well-Being. Basically, Time Affluence is the feeling that you have enough time to do the things that support your values and beliefs. Learning about it really changed how I think about my life and productivity. Instead of always feeling rushed or overbooked, I’ve started to see how important it is to make time for the things that matter most. It’s really shifted how I approach both work and life. Ironically, Time Affluence is better than Monetary Affluence for well-being but 69% people follow the opposite. 😀

    Helping, indeed serving, is an interesting learning curve, especially in a world where most people are out for what they can get for themselves often offering nothing whatsoever in return. To help or serve without expecting anything in return is a worthwhile goal in life. All I do is serve these days and it has taken a long time and a lot of 'work' to come to that point. To be able to view paid work, helping individuals or the community as a whole or helping yourself the same brings about a deep level of contentment.

    You're so right. The ability to think clearly and make decision takes playful attention - when we are at our most creative. I could not be like that when on the hamster wheel of life. We need to make borders for our attention. Then choose what makes most sense to pursue - there's only a priority, not many. The Cosmos is unknowable in the complex of its workings. We need to be simple. Stay out of anything were someone "wants 110%". Stick to the possible.

    We read the bible in doubt, never in surrender. If we know where we are, where we are going, there is no need for a map. But the devil will always provide one. Matthew 6:26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
