I’m actually going to cry. Supercorp has been my comfort ship for a long time now, and just thinking about them not being canon hurts me😭😭
People think Kara is weak for forgiving so many times. But she's not human and doesn't let human defects rule her judgment. She always knew Lena was a tortured soul who flip out the moment she's hurt. It's why Kara blames herself, she knew better and still lied for so long. Not that Lena is absolved, but Kara holds herself to a higher standard.

The writers were never able to make Supercorp Canon, though they clearly wanted to. So instead they used double meanings in everything. One of those hints they sent was Andrea Rojas. They made sure we saw Lena had feelings like she did for Kara before. You can't tell me the Andrea thing was am accident by the writers. They used parallels in that entire relationship right as Supercorp was at its largest in popularity. This was to tell us Lena had deep feelings for the same sex before. So as a Behavioral Health Professional I have a breakdown that I think Supercorp fans will appreciate. Lena broke the way she did because the things she was hiding were brought to the surface and not just her denial of who Supergirl was. I'm not saying the show was implying Lena realized she was gay, but they were implying Lena cared for Kara in a way that went beyond friendship. Lena's pain was that she thought Kara didn't care as much as she did. Then Kara did her own speech and Lena realized that Kara was in as much denial as she had been. Season 6 is kind of proof of my theory. Season 6 was primarily Lena helping Kara except herself for who she is. Now this can be taken multiple ways and that was intentionally done by writers who weren't aloud to make them blatantly Canon, so instead they used double meaning on almost everything in season 6. Lena knew before Kara how she felt, that was clear by how different Lena became after she realized how she felt. The rest of the time was her patiently helping Kara come to terms with her own feelings and you can see Kara slowly except these things. Denial can be very very powerful. But if you look, Lena had slowly taken Alex's place in Kara's life and even Alex herself noticed this. You can't tell me Alex would feel okay in letting just a friend take her role in Kara's life. No she felt safe in leaving Kara with Lena cause she saw the connection, the writers made sure we knew Alex knew. All of this was intentionally made apparent to us that Lena had become the most important person in Kara's life and that last scene was Lena telling Kara she excepted herself and all that she is and that if Kara did the same, she would be there for her. Kara taking off the glasses while staring at Lena was a symbol from the writers of Kara excepting herself and an expression of what mattered to her, Lena Luthor.

@mello_thaiss subtext is becoming s common thing in media. The show writers seemed to have used it a lot in season 6. They were able to use the word magic to be a stand in for many meanings If you really think about it. I'm not just reaching here, change the word magic to something else and it instantly becomes a different scene. They did that with a few things
@@ryanabate1981 yeah I got a lot of the subtext on 5th and 6th season. The "coming out" metaphor on the finale, but you really brought up some interesting point of view I didn't realize. I saw the 1st season on 2016 then I drop it. So I saw a video of them and I came back to watch it now and it's like... so much chemistry wasted. Idk.
@mello_thaiss Yeah I think it should be pointed out that Melissa was unable to build chemistry with Mecad Brooks (James) or Chris Wood (Mon El) on screen. The way he character is written sometimes makes her seem child like, so it's hard to build chemistry with that. But Katie did and at first it was not intentional lol, it just happened. They played well off each other. In later seasons 4 for sure and parts of 5, they both fed into the Supercorp hype because they knew who was watching the show. I mean Katie can build chemistry with a paper bag, but Melissa that shocked me cause I never felt like she actually liked the characters she was supposed to be crushing on, but she definitely sent vibes about Lena.
@@ryanabate1981 Well about Mecad I agree. It didn't work out even with Katie and I sense she wasn't enjoying the pair either lol. About Chris... I felt an average chemistry between he and Mel (besides his character being an asshole at the begining) but not bigger than Mel and Katie. When I think about chemistry, to me there's 3 kind of situations. The non chemistry: They set up 2 actors to be a pair saying they like each other because no one it's really seeing anything at all (James and Lena/ Kara and William wtf). The average chemistry: A lot of people really enjoy it, they're cute together and work out well (Alex and Maggie/ Kara and Mon El/ Brainy and Nia) The explosive chemistry: This one it's off the charts and very rare, so you cannot predict or set up this one, it's just there and people get very passionate about it (Kara and Lena/ Lexa and Clark/ Xena and Gabrielle). I don't think Katie did build the chemistry with Mel, it was there on their very first scene together just coming out from both of them like magic, and they just throwed away because the pair were both women.. Really? Were those showrunners living on 1910 or something? Lol yeah! Katie has chemistry with everyone, especially women.

I'm going to be killed for saying this but I have to. I don't hate her, Ridley is very beautiful and talented but I didn't like her in Star Wars and the recent films were worse than the original. Too many unanswered questions. I actually loved Rougue one and thought the female actress from that film should have played reys character.

@@Voltar I was a Drama student for 3 years and let me tell you that even if the character you're playing is vastly different from you, you still become attached to them majority of the time because you're literally playing them. And I'm sure Daisy didn't put all that hard work into portraying Rey just for people to constantly scream at her: "REY SUCKS!" or "Rey is so awful!". And yes, it is up for debate because I personally love Rey and have related to her character since I was 14 as she was the first character in Star Wars I ever emotionally connected with. So clearly the writing for Rey isn't as awful as you think it is. Perhaps her backstory can be given CONSTRUCTIVE criticism, but the things that came after, speaks to so many people on a very emotional level. My main point is, is that you don't have to insult Rey to compliment Daisy. If you don't like Rey (which is fine) maybe don't bring her up every 5 seconds because I've been in this fandom near 7 years and honestly? The people who talk about Rey the most are the people who claim to dislike her. Someone will be talking about a book in Legends or something and then someone else will mention Rey and how much they don't like her OUT OF NOWHERE, even though Rey has nothing to do with the original topic of conversation. Just say your criticism and move on. Talk about stuff you actually like instead, because it gets so frustrating seeing the same shit about Rey being regurgitated in every comment section under anything Star Wars related. I'm not attacking you by the way, I'm just a very tired Star Wars fan whose bored of others being cruel just because someone else likes a fictional character. (Also, Leia is "bitchy and dramatic"? Okay now a very controversial question but doesn't that mean it's also party on her Part? I went to Drama Classes & one of the advices Was that you have to think through your character: their past, who they are, their struggle. Listening to Daisys Interviews she likes Rey but I don't thinn she went through this progress with her character. Either because of Lack of direction that was given her or the changed scripts. But she talked how Rey's Lineage and past kept changing in the Story & the way she defended rise of skywalker seems like she was fine with that instead of a consistent Arc. I mean its Not her fault but the Lack of thought progress for rey is obviously there.
The thing is Rey isn’t actually portrayed as a character at all, she’s only used as a vessel to drive the story forward. Which technically is considered a protagonist still, but Rey lacks any actual character, because she has no character traits. Nothing that humanizes her, she never faces a single difficult task throughout the trilogy, her own backstory is retconned in the final film. I understand Daisy defending her character like any actor should, but she deserved a more memorable, personal, not Disney written, character.
