I just had a listen to the song after watching this and oh my god that song is incredible and transcedent. Not at all what i was expecting from a first song. This is exactly the kind of music i love and it ellicited so much emotion like immediately. I listen to a lot of music and this is easily one of my favourites now. Congratulations!!
WOW. I read this to Static and we are both just so happy and grateful that it resonated. What a beautiful thing to say, I'm so glad it said something to you. 🤍 Thank you so much for taking the time to comment this, we are both so thankful for this
@lovevioletgaze You guys deserve it ❤ I can tell you're going to be big. You could try and show your work to fans of Chelsea Wolfe or Emma Ruth Rundle or tour with them or something because I think those fans would love your music

Awww I'm so glad, I hope it was helpful 🤍
SO true!!! 💯
Id love to hear more about how you got started on upwork! I want to use my fulltime job to pour into my dream of being a full time artist/content creator. Up until this point I'd been working animation jobs but it was really labour intensive and draining creatively and i had a lot of difficulty landing consistent work so I was always stressed about getting my next gig. I've been wanting to pivot and marketing sounds like a potentially interesting avenue but idk how to get started and would love some advice ❤
Oohhhh, I wonder if I should make a video about it. I totally hear you about getting exhausted -- I've felt the exact same way. Getting started on Upwork isn't hard -- it just takes consistency, which can get hard if you don't feel like you're seeing results. I highly suggest setting controllable goals when you're doing this -- instead of saying "I want to get 1 client by [this date]," saying "I want to send 5 proposals a day for the next 3 weeks." You can't control the first one, you can control the second. Instead of focusing on the goal, focus on the systems you create. A TH-cam channel that helped me a lot was www.youtube.com/@MyNameIsDeya, specifically her playlist all on freelancing (linked below). th-cam.com/video/ubRp9UhoPhA/w-d-xo.html Let me know if this helps!
man you are amazing. and how do you know that i'm a graphic designer wanting to sell on etsy ? :D
OMG... lucky guess 🤣😭
okay first of all the thumbnail to this video is probably the most beautiful one I've seen so far, so intriguing! also thanks for all the great advice 🙏 I find it really funny that I just bought a book about Ikigai yesterday and now youtube prompted me to your video where you open with it. Guess it's really time to find mine :D
oh my gosh thank you so much 😭 I'm so glad something resonated with you!!
Am a currently struggling artist who has only been able to do fan art. Iv been having trouble getting followers and likes. Wonder if your video can help me. Recently I have hit a crisis be depressed and wondering if my artwork will amount to anything.
Ohhhh, I hear you sooooo much on this. I go to therapy and support groups to talk about when my emotions seem to get the best of me. I totally hear that and that's something a great professional or program has personally helped me with. I wonder if starting to get involved in your local space first could be of help. I've personally found social media to be such a hard way to grow without it promoting something else because there are sooooo many other people on it doing the exact same thing. I don't know too much about fan art and how to get it out there (would this be to sell?) but some initial questions I'd ask first is: - What spaces in your area could you share your fan art with for free? (Low barrier to entry?) - Are there comic book shops or book stores in your area that would be willing to have free samples of your fan art? - What free/easy open mics in your area could you read a portion of your fan art? I think the open mics and readings especially could be a great opportunity to get small and quick wins. You can get verbal feedback and get more and more people to read/listen to your work. It could feel more fulfilling, too. :)
A very different perspective from many people 😊 thank you for sharing your ideas and thoughts!
Aw thank you for watching Marta ❤
Ee kee ga ee. It’s ok lol ❤and yes 10000%
hahahaha I'm like nooo! not icky guy! 🤣
I really resonate with everything you say about using your creativity for others. I’ve been wanting to be a full time painter/illustrator but the path isn’t particularly clear, and it’s hard to find jobs that make enough to support while giving me enough time to work on my art. I like your concept of a more focused path with an intentional job. Could you give some clear ideas for a supporting job, besides digital marketing? And perhaps some advice on how to get into that sort of work?
I am so excited for your journey as a full-time painter/illustrator to unfold! When you say supporting job, are you talking about a part-time career while you're growing your illustration work on the side? There are a ton of other ways to make money online, but what I like about digital marketing is that it's proven to have the fastest return for me so I can work remotely and use my natural creative talents to get paid! In essence, I could have started by selling digital products or something, but that requires a skill/knowledge, audience, and a general knowledge of running a business, all of which I learned from working in digital marketing (if that makes sense). For me, the right digital marketing job (full-time or part-time) helped spare my energy (because it was remote, as well as something I was alreally pretty natural at even if I had a bit of a learning curve) and it was something I was naturally good at. But maybe that's not for you. Maybe when you follow that ikigai model, you find something that's in-person and non-digital marketing but doesn't drain you. I think the key is something that doesn't drain you too much so you have energy to build your own business. Which will naturally be something that -- - You're good at - The world needs - Has the ability to make money ...And then you can eventually shift it to something you *love* (painting/illustrating) when the time is right. Let me know if that makes sense! I hope I answered some of your questions but please ask more if it didn't! lol
@@lovevioletgaze sorry for the late reply! Yes, I’m looking for a part time job that will sustain me while I build my art career! The hard part for me is finding something that makes me enough to sustain me but still gives me enough time to work on art and doesn’t drain all of my energy. Mainly I’m just looking for some suggestions!
@@lunefaeriie For me, I'd think about whether I'm an introvert and extrovert. An introvert gets energy from being alone, so that might be virtual assistant jobs that require lots of independent work, a delivery driver who does work primarily on their own, etc. An extrovert gets energy from being with other people, so that might be a customer-facing role, front desk, things that require person-to-person interaction. Maybe make a list based on the Ikigai concept and see what kinds of jobs might fit in that role. Ultimately, I think you know your skills best! :)
@@lovevioletgaze thank you! I really appreciate you taking the time to reply to my comments. I’m definitely extremely introverted and have been struggling with doing retail jobs the past four years. I’ll take your suggestions into consideration!!
Awsome video! Thank you so much for sharing this, it's really helpful and a refreshing different approach!
Awww, I'm so happy! Always trying to bring a fresher perspective to creatives as there's so much not talked about. So happy something touched you. 🙌
Interesting non-cliche tips, certainly something to think about. As a multi-passionate person I also find the niche approach to be too restricting, which doesn't help at all in the long run or makes you stuck before you even start.
100%! It took me yearssss to realize that multi-passionates simply cannot niche and that is more than okay. 😂 I'm so glad some of this resonated. 🫶

I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS.
thank you so much!!
We are very alike. I also have a major in theater, I don't plan to give up. I also don't have the confidence in myself. I am starting to change the way I speak to myself, and if I have learned something is that no one really cares, It is my life, and the only way I will get there is to be myself and meet my own expectations and needs is if I am my biggest fan, but never forget that I am also my biggest enemy, I have to make it work for me. And I need to treat myself like the person I want to become.
everything you said - YES. i can resonate so much with that. I've actually found the idea of "nobody cares" more freeing than anything - like, nobody cares, so why the heck not just try? it feels negative to say it but it feels really empowering for me lol, is that the same with you? Also about meeting your own expectations, I've definitely had to do the old rule of "if i wouldn't say it to my best friend, i won't say it to myself" kinda talk. you're doing the thing, girl. and we're right here with you. 🙏

currently in that no community hermit phase, it's awful. There's truly no one under 50 where I live and can't afford to leave just yet, but also struggling to find any sort of online accountability community with people at the same level of ambition and skill.
I hear that. Honestly, so many of my accountability buddies are in different states, but I get that it can be really hard to find these people in person (and it sometimes doesn't quite feel the same way when you can't just grab tea with them and talk). I've been thinking of starting a community because this is EXACTLY something I've been looking for and haven't found any of right now. But until then... we're here for you. 🫶
also have been thinking a lot about this lately (maybe that's how this ended up on my youtube feed) about creating a discord server focused on accountability buddying up, but also not strictly for just the art crowd (I'm not a youtuber yet but I work in games/animation and have a smaller but active following on ig and twitter). I've met a number of cool mutuals who want similar but aren't in any art or design kind of life that I don't want to oust. Figuring out how to even put this together digitally effectively though is like corralling cats :') @@lovevioletgaze
