3.5
Hey just wanted to say thanks I follow this video step by step also bought a repair manual but this help me do the job and safe a lot of money 💪
Thanks for the video! My first timing belt and water pump! Was successful because of your video.
Nice work Rodney, thanks for publishing
I can’t get this 3-jaw clamp remover behind the pulley
This dude gets straight to the point. Much appreciated!
Very nice video! I have 135K miles on my 2000 300M so I wanted to size up the job of changing my timing belt and water pump. After watching your video, I figure it may take me a couple of evenings. Thanks for posting it.
Music is terrible very disturbing when trying to hear
That's exactly what I was coming to say. Had to shut the video off before the end because I couldn't take it anymore.
Excellent video👍👍👍
Awesome video
Thank you papa ♥️
Excellent video👍
You didn't clean up the caliper slide pins, I'm having problems with the pin that has rubber on it, even after replacing the rubber
Trying to keep the video as short as possible. I checked to pins and the rubbers at removal and decided that they didn't bind and moved freely and I would keep them undisturbed. I was putting about 50k a year on this car and this would likely be the last brake service for the life of this car. It did go another 60k before a deer ran in front of the car. It was at about 230k at that time. Better that expected, it was a great car....
@@rodneyroberts I removed the rubber and the pin binding went away, no noise or any problems as of yet. I got the rotors turned last year as the insides weren't looking so hot, got mine with 17k at almost a hundred now and I love it
I recommend purchasing the alignment tool. you can get in ebay for $20 it will be much easier to get timing right.
The right tools make all the difference. I didn't know this tool existed. Many thanks for the heads up...
what is the difference between the timing if it's off position
If you pull the covers and turn the crank until it aligns with the mark and one of the other marks on the cam are not between the dots then it has slipped. You might need to turmoil the crank twice to align. It turns twice to every cam turn.
how can I find out if the timing is slip
If you pull the covers off and timing marks don't line up then it has slipped
How would I reinstall tha harmonic pulley? Just bolt it back on?
It just bolts back on, it is not part of the balance, this is an enteral balanced engine. As you can see there is no key way.
@@rodneyroberts I ended up tapping it with a hammer and I used my dewalt impact to bolt it back on. Really great video nonetheless. I was working on one at 2am trying to figure how to install the pulley
Thumbs down because you didn’t show how to unplug the stupid fan, just showed a picture. Onto the next vid

What head unit is this
I bought this on e-bay for about 300 xtrons I think. No regrets, has been working great. I load music on an SD card most of the time and it also plays music videos. This car also has front and rear cameras and has the ability to add a rear screen to play videos for the backseat riders.

Excellent video. Thank you
How long did this take?
1 evening,
My air is continually on full blast. When I hit the off button, it redirects to full blast on my feet. The fan dial does nothing, but temp control and everything else works. Any ideas? It didn’t do this until after I took it into the dealer to get my turn signal repaired and interior lights wiring looked at.
Wonder how long this takes all together
I was able to do this in an afternoon and taking the video at the same time.
Bad audio
I just wanted to say thank you. I watched your video and it was awesome! It gave me the courage to take on this challenge. You saved me a lot of money........And the video was clear and detailed. Great Job all around!!
Thanks was a great video
This is the only video I've watched on how to do this properly without any bullshit. Thank you sir.
Scotty Kilmer the best check his videos out
When you pulled the pin is it supposed to go into the slot on the idler pulley????
When you pull the pin it is supposed to release the pressure for it to push the pulley arm into the belt. If nothing happened when you pulled the pin the cylinder is faulty.
My world has potholes with mud, sand and dirt along with road dirt and oils from pavement. I run through snow with who knows what all chemicals and salt along with the dog next door the likes to lift his leg but if you feel a new rotor needs cleaned then do it. I didn't show pulling the boots back and checking the grease but that was done and in this case wasn't needed to add additional. The pad and rotor replacement was a very simple process but you are welcome to make it as complex as you want. This car had an additional 100k driven since the brake replacement before the engine failed at 260k. Other than the poor design with the coolant bypass overflow hose this had been a great car. No regrets.
I enjoyed the video since I'll be doing mine in the next few days. I would add cleaning the new rotors with brake cleaner, removing the old clips for the disk pads and adding the grease to the new clips and pads and undoing the cap on the brake reservoir when depressing the brake caliper piston by hand.
Pretty nice job. What model lights and switch did you use?
for the lights in the spindle I used 12 volt super bright LEDs and made the holder with the 3d printer. the lights under the gantry are 4 LED 160 Deg White 2.0W Waterproof Back Light led Sign modules for Letter Signs. www.amazon.com/Waterproof-Decorative-Advertising-Adhesive-Backside/dp/B07DNV3ZSN/ref=sr_1_16_sspa?dchild=1&keywords=led+sign+lights&sr=8-16-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUExWUFCSUlERExaR1ZYJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwMDEzNzc3MUpWMVdTUEUwRVdMOCZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwODEyMjMzMlg2MTkzS1FMRFhSWSZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX210ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU= I designed the switch and plug blocks myself also with the 3d printer. Everything is powered with a 12 volt converter I believe for a laptop computer. I now have this set up in M4 so I turn them on and off with the computer now. The switch is ( 2Pcs KEDU HY12-9-7 4Pins Push Button Switch AC 125/250V 20/18/12A ON OFF Electric Tool Rocker Switches with Waterproof Cover Suitable for Household and Industrial Electrical Equipment ) because I already had it.

Love the video need to know wat the tool is that u pulled the wheel off with
From Amazon, Mofeez 3" 4" 6" inch 3-Jaw Gear Puller - Gear Removal Tool for Slide Gears, Pulley, and Flywheel 3pc Set
The thing with the pain and it's not pushing on the will to give the belt any tension what did I do wrong
@@royjones7523 When you pull the pin out it should extend and push the pulley into the belt. If it doesn't extend after the pin was pulled then the cylinder is faulty.
Great vide. Can u guys help me? I broke 11 belts in my 300m, only because by poor tightening this big middle pulley. How to tighten it? In my car it don't want to be close to the engine block.
Not sure what your asking, the crank shaft pulley?
@@rodneyroberts Yes. Trying to tighten, I start to move the pistons, i have to block the engine ?
Appreciate the tips! ...You should get an Amazon affiliate account to link to specialty tools like the 3” puller & anything that a novice would not have in their toolbox. Why not get a commission for them clicking on your links 🤘
Didn't even know that was possible.
Rodney Roberts yes ...just sign up fir Amazon affiliate & you’ll get a custom tracking link ...you get commissions for referring people when they buy
Good job. Short cut- don't pull the harmonic balancer. By removing the small plate on the bottom, remove the 3 bolts. You can sneak out/in the belt. Twist it in/out.
Plz use a jack stand if your not, don’t rely on a floor jack as the lone source to handle the weight. Ive seen them slowly lower I’ve also seen people kick them. With a jack stand doesn’t matter if it fails it wont fail on top off you. No that’s not being anal it’s just being smart.
If you look it does have jack stand under the vehicle.
Rodney Roberts yes just saw it so maybe it helps someone down the road.
@@smash72cutlass30 If you haven't done so already I recommend changing the transmission fluid. The lines are know to leaking and without a dipstick you won't know it's low. Also the coolant bypass line going to the top of the coolant reservoir vibrates to much and eventually snaps the nipple off by the engine block. I added a tie strap to assist in keeping the line secured. I think this was replaced under warranty years ago and I just replaced it again this week. I'll see if securing it better than the factory did works.
Your body is blocking the camera , we want to see the brake job ,not your back!!
Rodney. Your vid was super helpful, although guitar jam was a tad too loud in the mix but...that was prob because of all salty words one has to use to get those m-fer g-d fn bolds out! The floor is like a 3 inch drop from the door sill. Need a small pillow for your back. I pulled the carpet down to give me extra 1/2 inch space for the rachet wrench. Its was a job indeed. My old unit was very corroded. New one came from 1a auto three weeks later. I bought a small 3 inch wrench for the install and it worked perfect with you tape tip. Cheers to you man. Drink and smokey treat for me too! Thanks for helping me with my 300m....I love it. Pete - Canada
I agree the background jam is too high. Love this car bought new in 02 still looks great.
I have a question my ac is only working on one speed and some days not at all would I need to do the same as you have in this video.
My tensioner pully bracket will not pivot on pivot bolt. I tightened to spec and it will not move i tried it with the washer and without the washer still it barely gets snug and it stops pivoting and the belt is still pretty loose when i push the pully againt the belt till belt is snug then tighten to soec the pully bracket isnt even touching the fully extended and installed hydraulic tensioner... any ideas
Ryan, I know this is a 3 year old post, but I thought I would give it a shot. This is the exact same issue I am having, torque to spec and it will not pivot on the bolt or without some strong force to get it to move. Did you by chance figure what the issue was? Thanks!
*GREAT video*.......wish this guy was my neighbor so he could stop by and help me do my car......btw the 24 thumbs down must be from mechanics that would rather charge us $700 + $300 for the parts to do this
Would be glad to assist if you were local. Always will to help people that are willing to help themself
@@rodneyroberts thanks Rodney......I am way up north on the Olympic Peninsula and my 1999 Chrysler 300M is past due since it has almost 140,000 miles on it......your video made it look easy and I used to have the tool you used to pull that one part off but it has been decades since I used it so I probably would never find it but if I was 20 years younger I would do this myself but these days I keep trying to find a mechanic that makes house calls......with no luck.....and I have several other cars (and a 1976 4X4 Power Wagon) but the 300M is the car I drive these days no matter what the weather is.......so maybe you should move up here since I think there is a house for sale across the road :-D ......out in the country as we say.......in the middle of my 5 acres (wish it was 100) th-cam.com/video/2gp1xaw2DVc/w-d-xo.html
pretty confident in that jack not failing when you stuck your lower body under the car. i learned my lesson when a car fell after i was done putting on the caliper. 20 seconds before it fell, both my legs were under the car, luckily it didnt fall when i was in that position. always atleast put the damn wheel under the car as a saftey. ... i see the jack stand now
Was your water pump leaking or was this a general maintenance? I am trying to figure out if my brother's 300m is the water pump. Intermittent coolant leak. It drips from the front support member under the car. It has 101k on the engine. Any thoughts on confirming the leak. I'm thinking about removing the crank pulley and checking for leaks.
I did it as general maintenance because the car had 150,000
If you have coolant comming out around the crank it would be the water pump
Helluva video man. I'm about to do this on my Prowler, and I'll be relying on this heavily. Thank you!
What kit should i use
I have the 3.5 H.O. motor in my Concorde LXI limited. 24 VALVE. Couldnt find a VIDEO that showed exactly how to do the spark plugs. You left out the 5/8 size for the spark plug wrench. I could barely here you too. But it was a great video. Please do more. Shawn
