I cannot imagine how disappointed I’d be if I finally got the chance to see Chicago, paid the money, traveled to the show, dressed up, waited in line, only to hear the crowd sing the whole show. I’d walk out pissed.

This performance was such a beautiful rarity these days - a fully live vocal performance ... at the Grammy Awards, no less! BRAVO! Billy Joel, for bucking the current music industry-wide standard operating procedure of using Auto-Tune live and lip-syncing to (often pitch-corrected) pre-recorded backing tracks with lead vocals on them! The sad part to this otherwise wonderful story of Billy's new song is that the official release of this song has been pitch-"corrected", thereby destroying Billy's brilliant natural voice. I am sure that everyone here will enjoy this vocal analysis linked to below of Billy's fully live vocal performance of Turn the Lights Back On at the last Grammy awards show.
