Best Mini of them all imo (and I did own both the Genesis and CoreGrafx Minis previously). I have it hacked to play a whole bunch of games from other consoles as well, along with a little patch to get back to the menu via a simple button command and some controller extension cables. :) There ain't no "pettiness" to it. It was purely a smart business decision given these things were starting to become more popular at the time. And Nintendo did it right. The quality is top tier across the board, be it the physical console, the controllers, the game lineup, the menu design and options, etc.
I'm actually grateful for bootlegs but most of the fake NES/SNES classic minis are trash except the ones actually trying to look & feel like the real deal systems Nintendo did. So not all bootlegs are trash
From what I heard the nes & snes were basically Nintendo testing NSO before they did the real NSO Nintendo Switch Online

Still use Win7 in a Linux/Win dualboot system. The only thing you cant do in Win7 is gaming under dx12. Other than that it runs smooth and fast as ever.
A guide how to prepare Windows 10 to be as painless as possible: 1. Uninstall half of all the apps, particularly the Metro apps. 2. Permanently disable updates. No more "mom" telling you when it's time to update under the threat of being forced to. 3. Go to Edge and turn off all the settings that allow it to run in the background and be launched when not called for. 4. Install Open Shell and Winaero Tweaker to restore the old Start menu, volume/battery controller, Task Manager, customize the taskbar etc. These things also open up faster than their Win10 equivalents, which is life-saving for me who works on an old machine. 5. Don't even think about upgrading to Windows 11. People have been there and they report it's much worse. You'd be basically signing up for living in Microsoft's virtual corporate dystopia, where they distort your sense of what user-friendliness should be, and place you like a bacterium under the microscope of their spyware.

8:00 i don't think it's the scaling per-say. Probably just a pretty low default resolution, since it is a virtual machine.
Should also try Hannah Montana and Justin Bieber Linux.
STOP Before you hate me hear me out you can turn your Windows 7 into an emulation computer and still be connected online Steam is not 100% reliable for gamers because they CLAIM you don't own the game anyway even if you buy it. Alternative methods exist the game developers can CANCEL Steam and offer direct downloads instead everything will still be digital but the COMPANIES are in control and Valve wouldn't be. Imagine if every company RIGHT NOW abandoned Valve because of their baiting policies you can EASILY now go back to an older version of WINDOWS if gaming companies COMPLIED with my suggestion we can break Steam and expose them for frauds.

Not quite everything. If you want to run Linux on a machine with minimum requirements for Xorg and specifically a 486, you'll need a specialty distro whose name escapes me.

fyi PonyOS isn't a Linux distro, it's an entire operating system made from scratch. So yeah ofc it's very barebones lol I hate the aesthetics but I gotta respect it, it's much more than I could do
