Hydrastar is stupidly designed with total reliance on cork seals and a pump seal to keep brake fluid away from electric motor and circuit board. It should have separate sealed reservoir and better seals. Bad design. The pump motor is excellent. Built in China! And pulling apart the brake fluid pump in front of the electric motor is difficult. But essential to replace seals. And there is no documentation!

Terrible video, needs to show the wiring diagram and what each wire does and how it should be installed.

My motor failed on my HBA-16. Called tech support and was told to buy a new unit. Yeah OK! Bought a 12V motor through a vendor that I use for hydraulic supplies. $74. You guys suck Hydrastar! I'm sure Hydrastar will say its unsafe and blah blah blah. My trailer was towed from Texas to Alaska and it failed. Very little brake applications on that haul. Chineese junk to begin with!

I contacted the hydra star technical support department… they told me mine was broken and couldn’t be fixed… then they told me to buy a new one… LOL…

You need hearing protection…

second one of these have failed on me not getting another one not happy

In case of stand alone trailer, How do the Hydrastar function the parking brake?

the design of the pump is defective. because leaks breake fluids overe the wiring in the inside. why the tank have to be on top and not bottom . poor quality and expensive.

This reminds me of the fist time I read one of those "how to" things bozos write on how to do something on a computer! Good god people if you're going to post a how-to video about installing an electronic device on something at least least say something about the color of the wires and where the hell they need to be hooked up, instead of wasting 10 minutes of OUR time on sales crap. If we didn't already have the damn thing why would we need to know how to install it? DUHHHHH!!

so if i put the black and white wire on the battery and it runs this is bad so the unit needs to be fix or replaced is there away for me to have ago at fixing the problem or its going to cost alot to have it fixed?
