I was training for a marathon when I hairline fractured my ankle on July 30th of 2024. Up until then I had been exercising, eating a macro based diet and losing weight. I felt unstoppable. Now I'm back to feeling like a Pillsbury Doughboy. Now that my cast is off, it's time to get back in the swing of things while also rehabilitating my right ankle and my lower back (from an injury back in 2016). Goal is to lose weight in a most consistent and less aggressive way and strengthen my muscles to prevent further injury.

my motivation was when my doctor told me iam a full blown diabetic, i may have possible heart issues, and all sorts and i have to take maintenance meds. I weight 216lbs and now iam hetween 192-194 lbs, felt great and did it in 2 months just by what you did, simply waking, although i moderately cut down my carbs, a cup of rice per meal

I agree! White potatoes all the way. I like sweet potatoes, however, they don't crisp up the way I like for fries. However, I also love rice for the same reason you like white potatoes. They go with everything and since my mentally disabled father would not eat anything other than white potatoes and pork chops (dried out to the point their a frisbee) I'm sick of them 🙃

I ended up getting a treadmill, because I couldnt force myself to go outside to walk 1 hr a day with being tired from work, or bad weather, or being too late. Now I've done 10k a day for 4 Months, only missing a total of 3 days total. I feel much better over all compared to how I felt before, and I can't just say "F it" because its a lot easier to get on a treadmill then it was to go outside for me. It was a bit expensive but considering the use I get out of it, it was worth every penny.

I decided last night to extend my walking break. My foot is feeling better, so hopefully I'll go walking a bit tonight. Yesterday and today i ate salads with green leafy "superfoods", clover sprouts, cherry tomatoes, white mushrooms, Mexican cheese, and salmon sashimi, with classic Italian dressing. Pretty yummy!

Haitai, Kit! I asked this on a previous video, but I'll ask again since this is this place for Q&A prep. Have you done any Okinawan cultural arts? My great grandfather played sanshin and my mom and I both play kutu so my experience of visiting Okinawa is influenced by my connection to the cultural arts. Also, do you like any modern Okinawan music? I saw BEGIN at the last Taikai, it was a good time.
Q&A: Have you considered interval walking (when you're not recording yourself, anyway)? 3 minutes conversational pace + 3 minutes fast pace+ 3 minutes conversational pace... It's supposedly a faster way to lose weight. Lots of TH-cam videos on it, if you're interested.

ALL YOU NEVER WANTED TO KNOW.. and MORE! 😊 I just checked on some data about Okinawa: 66 miles long, and only 7 miles wide???? Almost 1000 miles from mainland Japan? (I thought it was a hop, skip, and jump!) In comparison, Oahu, Hawaii is 44 miles long, 30 miles wide, and is 2400 miles from California, almost the width of the continental USA. Oahu covers 567 square miles, compared to Okinawa's 466. I'm LITERALLY right down the street from Pearl Harbor.

NOT Q&A... I've got a snag. I walked 17 miles in 21 days, and have not cheated on the new food plan since learning I'm pre-diabetic. I'm about 11 pounds lighter for over reason or another. BUT now I'm having foot (left) and knee (both) issues. I haven't walked the past few nights. I start PT on Monday. Maybe she can help me figure out what to do about it. In the meantime, i should be doing some exercises/stretches/rope flows, but i haven't. 😢
