Welcome to the Create.Repeat Podcast! Every Monday we'll be dropping a new episode diving into the ups and downs of the creative process. Some episodes will feature me (Zack Evans) and my wife/co-founder Morgan Evans sharing our journey, while others will spotlight interviews with rising creators. We hope you’ll give it a listen and join us on this next phase of Create.Repeat.
Why Chasing Algorithms Almost Broke Zach Kornfeld (Try Guys)
In this episode, Zack sits down with Zach Kornfeld-content creator, filmmaker, and Try Guys co-founder-to unpack his journey of chasing numbers, battling burnout, and finding balance in the chaos of content creation.
From the relentless pursuit of viral success to rediscovering creativity beyond the algorithm, Zach opens up about the pressures of online fame, the toll it took on his mental health, and how he learned to create on his own terms. Whether you’re a creator drowning in the hustle or someone looking to reconnect with your passion, this conversation offers raw honesty, inspiration, and practical advice for redefining success.
💡 What You’ll Learn:
• Why algorithms are a trap-and how to escape them.
• The hidden cost of creative burnout.
• How to protect your passion in a world obsessed with metrics.

Personally, I feel Zach is the most relatable of the guys. At least for me. He seems so authentically himself.
The only thing more ADHD than not being able to do stuff unless you're creatively excited is thinking it's not ADHD, you're just lazy and selfish. ZACH, COME ON NOW!
why didnt i immediately recognize zack on the thumbnail
So happy for this interview. I’m still fascinated by the peak Buzzfeed era, it really got me through some challenging times & continues to inspire me to believe in my creative efforts. So glad to see where all my faves are now.
The colour grading on this video is so nice and cozy 😍 love hearing Zach talk about his creative process!

New guy trys is such a funny and beautiful show that would be challenging to make in a traditional media format. Shoutout to Ash for being so vulnerable, hilarious, and relatable. I highly recommend watching.
Zach was always so underrated when the Try guys first started and that even flowed into the beginning of their company 😢 He was always my favorite. I’m so happy he’s getting his flowers and the attention he deserves 💐
Zack, I love your content and brand vibe! Good luck with the new channel!!!
Thanks so much!
omg I know one of the digital compositors for Eternal Sunshine, she's now a VFX artist, post-supervisor, and professor! what a small world!
i have been watching the try guys since they started. seen most if not all their videos. i have seen them all change and grow over the years but man zach has grown so much. he is such a inspiration to all
I've always loved the Try Guys from their buzzfeed days and appreciate that they had to be there in a lot of ways to get here and where they're going. But I'm amazed and a little bummed that we're only just now seeing this side of Zach the last few years! He was so slept on!!
"The numbers stop becoming people." Was a powerful way of describing their rise to fame after the Kim K. video.
It’s so cool to see Zach talking about the behind the scenes. He has such a thoughtful outlook and perspective on the creative process. Omg he was in the edit bay for Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind?!
Zack, Quinta, Justin, Garrick and Kate were my fave creators at Buzzfeed. ALWAYS excited when I get to see y’all venture into things and have success. Excited for Create Repeat and very tuned into the message. Subscribed this morning on my other channel. This is one of Zach Kornfeld’s best interviews out as well
Really appreciate that! Thank you for being here 🔁

Woah I didn't recognize Zack. Saw this in my feed and thought "I'll give it a go, hope I like the host" and was treated to one of my old BuzzFeed favourites! What an absolute delight!
Omg I didn't recognize him either. He's doing well ❤
Hey it's my favorite try guy! He's just so awesome, isn't he❤
I can't believe that Zach was at the post-production of Eternal Sunshin of a Spotless Mind omg

Being honest, through the last year I started cleaning out all my frenemies and it seriously made me a WAY better friend! Because I know no one in my inner circle has any second agenda and that just changes the way you view the world! So yesss if you are not supporting your friends, there is no inner work that needs to be done 😂
