Netgear C7000 AC1900 DOCSIS 3.0 24x8 review and speed test (gigabit)
This is a quick review and speed test of the Netgear C7000 AC1900 DOCSIS 3.0 24x8 modem and router combo on a gigabit internet connection.
I couldn't find any other speed tests for this router/modem on gigabit, so I thought I would create this video for anyone interested.
Note: I was connected to the 5 Ghz wifi when I did the speed test, although it's not mentioned in the video.

This is a review of the GPD Pocket 2 Amber Black from Indiegogo for anyone who was curious about it. Seems like a nice device but could use a better touch screen. Corrections: 6:09 - I meant to say just one day of web browsing 7:06 - I know I'm on the CPU tab, but you can see the memory usage in the left sidebar

I hv same modem/router. I pay xfinity for 400 Mb/sec and always get considerably better than that on speedtest. I came looking to find out if this router could get 1 gb/s. Something looks wrong in this demo result.

Your volume is so low that I can't understand what you are saying so I don't know if this is good information or not. I have both my computer and the video sound up as far as it will go and still can barely hear you. This type video will make me look for another product because of the annoyance of the sound quality! I got nothing from this.

For 1Gb you need a DOCSIS 3.1 modem NOT a DOCSIS 3.0

Sometimes makes me wonder if comcast automatically caps ur speed if ur not using their modem....to purposely switch to theirs....but id assume they would be swimming in lawsuit paperwork by now haha

Did you ever figure it out? I have the same modem and the same tier speed as you...they keep telling me it was a netgear problem not a xfinity problem I really thought it was a rule or a provision they did to keep it from going the full speed my upload never could go above 5 mbps...curious what service provider you have
Huh. I have the same modem router but my upload I speed is around 40-50 mbps
Xfinity has to have it set up on there end to get the full speed. Plus to get the 1G you have too use ethernet cable preferably cat6 or higher
its rated for 300Mbps wifi and 1Gbps Ethernet. plug in a cabe and it will work better

Their list of gigabit compatible devices seems to indicate that you need a DOCSIS 3.1 router to take full advantage of the connection? I too am using the C7000 with Xfinitys Gigabit connection, and only reach 321Mbps via ethernet connection.
I just bought one of these from best buy and it was a total dud defective product pure garbage

he has the wrong modem the one he has supports up to 400 mbps speeds make sure when u buy a modem/router it supports your internet speed

A few things to keep in mind if you have one gigabit internet and the modem is rated under 1 gigabit you will not see one gigabit at the performance level. DOCSIS 3.0 is rated for speeds up to 1 gigabit DOCSIS 3.1 is rated from one gigabit up to 10 gigabit if you have a DOCSIS 3.0 modem router combo that could be one of your bottlenecks the other one could be the actual internet speed throughput.
so what the deal? I'm having the same issue with my netgear. Do you think Xfinity puts a cap on the competition routers?

It's not a 4K screen, so there is no point, but yes you can.
Do you know if you can use google WiFi for this modem?
Google WiFi is just a router, you can use basically any router added to basically any combo modem/router
Please do Not buy anything from Netgear.. I repeat DO NOT BUY ... I have battling with them to change a cable modem for over 2 weeks a CM1150V cable modem. I paid $119 for a year plan for customer support.. Then they had me pay $29.90 twice in order to have the modem shipped .. I was told that I was going to get a refund .. I have never received those refund yet... I received an email saying action required by customer when you call customer support .. They always make the same excuse. Either they will call you back within the next hour , 4, or 24 ..They never follow up. The system asked me to pay again.. I have never received my refunds from my two previous payments.. I agree, DO NOT buy this modem. I did. I was having issues so I called Netgear because this same modem dropping my internet service and kept searching for networks. I couldn't stay online. After contacting Xfinity I was told the issue was with my modem. Xfinity gave me a phone number to contact Netgear support. At Netgear a female asked what was wrong and went through my modem lights and said everything was working fine but then informed me that my support had expired. I was asked to pay to update my expired support and then was told some technician would call me. I said NO THANK YOU. I will just go buy another modem. I also told this female I would be sure and post on the internet. Beware this modem is pricey and Netgear DOESN'T stand behind their product.
Your ping was 7ms with the C7000. Your ping was 16ms with your old pos. You should go with the Netgear.

When it's closed, the keys press against the screen, leaving marks. Could be part of the problem.

I have a 15" laptop for work, but i also want a mini lap to use when i travel to see movies, a lot of videos in youtube, check my email, play light games and a little work in Word basically, do you recommend me these device for that use? im a little concern about if the intel celeron processor 3965y is enough for that. Way better laptop class CPU instead of a cell phone/tablet CPU, and cheaper. I would get this one 1000%
I'm also wondering the performance difference between m3 and celeron, coz that's the only difference now that the black one comes in 8gb ram. Looks like celeron is about half the performance.. dunno how it would impact real world daily tasks.

Great 1 review and out of 1 review there is a bad touch screen, so safe to say 100% failure rate. Kinda bad for such an expensive toy. LOL, originally they werent even going to put a touch pointer on it, so broken touch screen or external mouse would have been the only option. BRILLIANT!
That touch screen issue is concerning!! I am actually planning to buy this device in the near future... I wonder if it's a know issue with the screen.. :/ Or it may just be your device that's faulty. Anyway, hows the battery life? Can you please comment on that. Would love to know how long it lasts for usages such as web browsing, online streaming and working on documents...
