Day of Dead at The Ecology Center
As a community, we gathered to honor the music and culture that encourages us to approach life with kindness and generosity.
Our first Day of Dead event was a heartfelt collaboration between Music Never Stopped, The Ecology Center, and every one of you who joined us. A big thank you to Sunstroke Serenaders and Cats on the Bandstand for filling the day with vibrant tunes, and to our vendors who brought their unique offerings to our farm.
Remember, we're here for you. We invite you to visit us often, as the Farm Stand and our initiatives are a reflection of the music we celebrated. Your engagement is the heartbeat of our community. Together, let's keep the spirit of celebration alive, inspire each other, and work towards a brighter future. We eagerly anticipate your next visit.

Community Table is Redefining "Farm-to-Table" Cuisine
มุมมอง 3592 ปีที่แล้ว
Community Table is an edible conversation between a farm, a chef, and the community. This beloved dinner series brings renowned chefs to our farm to design ecological meals around our four seasonal rotations (market garden, milpa, berries, cover crops). By bringing these culinary artists back to the source, we give them an opportunity to connect with new ingredients, find fresh inspiration in o...
We're Changing Agriculture by Paying Farmers a Living Wage
มุมมอง 1842 ปีที่แล้ว
Back in 2020, we eagerly applied for certification under the Regenerative Organic™ label. This designation pushes the “organic agriculture” model even further, taking our farming practices from a simple do-no-harm ethos to providing meaningful support to our local ecology. We were thrilled to be awarded a Bronze Certification status, which reflects the way that we grow food for our community-wi...

This Is Our Vision for Our Regenerative Organic Farm in 2022
มุมมอง 7402 ปีที่แล้ว
2021 was a transformative year for The Ecology Center. We grew from 1 acre to 28 acres, and our staff of 12 is now over 80 strong. Thanks to your support and the efforts of our Village (team), we've been able to donate 44,000 pounds of food, train 6 regenerative farmers, host our first chef-in-residence, and launch other incredible experiential programs, like our TASTE festivals. Today, we find...
How The Ecology Center is Spreading Regenerative Agriculture in Southern California
มุมมอง 5212 ปีที่แล้ว
As leaders in the ecological food movement, we’re committed to expanding our work beyond the bounds of our 28-acre property. It’s not enough just to grow food-we need to teach the next generation. The EUSD Farm Lab is a 10-acre farm in partnership with the Encinitas Unified School District. It is the first certified organic school farm in the country that supports health, wellness, and enviro-l...
TASTE Milpa 2021
มุมมอง 1623 ปีที่แล้ว
The Ecology Center has reimagined the traditional harvest festival into a multi-sensory celebration of history, culture, and the land that nourishes us all. The story of the milpa begins long ago, when human beings first began to farm this land. Corn provides a sturdy structure for growing plants, lifting them up to reach the warm sunlight. Beans climb the cornstalk while spreading their networ...

Located on 28 acres of historic farmland in San Juan Capistrano, our work is based in agroecology, an approach to farming that nourishes the earth in return for all it give...
