It’s still not enough to protect flat tappet cams and you know that. The lack of ZDDP in modern pcmo can’t be fixed by adding a minute amount of “liquid titanium “ .
Who knows how true any of this is. Could be an engine with 50,000 miles and them saying it has 270,000 miles. They could have cleaned everything before the video. Only way i would believe it is if they videoed the odometer reading and then walked straight to the engine bay and start pulling the engine and then directly going into the disassembly process.
I think any diesel (or any engine for that matter) whose primary miles are highway, is going to look like this, as long as the maintenance schedule is followed religiously.. Eco-diesel's (and most other diesels) suffer when they do short trips, because the oil temps don't rise to over 210 degrees to evaporate and burn off the blowby, therefore carbonizing the rings, resulting in more blow by, which manifests itself in oil related failure (in the Eco-diesel, that's the main bearings). change your oil religiously, and reduce the interval if doing short trips. And given the Eco-diesel uses the dreaded Bosch CP4 fuel pump, change the fuel filter every 10K miles.

Damn our race engine run leader fuel and synthetics. Keep up with the times Phillips. If you have to lie you have bigger issues. Keep it simple is my advice. I run Aero Shell because of analysis. If I’m getting a ton of fuel in my oil I’ve got other issues going on.
Is there a pressure relief valve in the oil pump housing? I have searched for months to find an oil pump disassembled 🙂

I took our coach into Restoration Diesel in Jones Michigan for an 80,000 mile service today. They sell and installed Kendall Super D XA 15w40. This is a first time using this oil, we'll wait and see how things go. The specs and reviews are impressive which eases my mind about having an oil in my coach I hadn't used before. Rotella 15w40 prior.
We own a 2017 ecodiesel. Only 72k miles. We use only royal purple oil. We have been using royal purple since 2004. Wont use anything else.I guess.I can figure on that kind of miles from our truck
More impressed you found an ecodiesel that managed to keep the emission, dpf and turbo for 270k!
There are way more videos that complain about this engine. Most seem to not recommend the Ecodiesel. Videos like this give me confidence in my 2023 Jeep JLURD
No quality engine uses leaded petrol! So far behind.

Why was the engine torn down? Not doubting your product, just wondering why the owner didn't try for more miles.
They will put it all back together and usually clean the engine out for the owner. They ask people to donate their engines for classes and things like this
Why is anti-rust oil limited on break in time?

It's so hard to get this oil in Indonesia
in order to save on green house gases we could just build cars to last longer instead of this start stop technology that is going to wear out engines longer, what creates more green house gases building a new car every 5-10 years or keeping a car on the road for 20 years with minimal repairs.

Hi, Phillips66, What does Titanium do in the ring groove? Does it act like a Detergent, antioxidant or antiwear? How this protection work?
Fuel efficiency claims with 0w-16 are dubious as far as I'm concerned. I switched to 0w-20 during the summer in my 2019 Rav4 and got the best fuel economy ever during a recent 200 mile trip compared to any prior trips using 0w-16. 40.5 mpg I've gotten close with 0w-16, but of course this comparison isn't rigorous.
I have the previous gen RAV4 and I use 5a-30. I’ve literally seen no noticeable drop in fuel economy. It’s all about how you drive.
Unless it's under warranty? Still waiting for an answer from the "support team" NS3 Nissan fluid under warranty??? It's not even close by color and does not say to change all or mix blue (NS3) with red....

I think only turbo-charged engines have the under piston oil squirters. The non-turbo engines really don't need 'em, although it certainly wouldn't hurt things if they did.

Jimmy Chua, yes the GF - 6A and the API SP is backwards compatible with the GF - 5 and the API SN/SN+. It’s the new GF - 6B that is not backwards compatible because it is tied in withthe newer 0W - 16 full synthetic rated for turbo-charged/GDI engines
