As a Bhutanese I think its really important for us to at least watch this wonderful documentary.
Lunana yak in the classroom should give credit to the maker of school among glaciers as an adaptation of this documentary
Wow, absolutely beautiful and touching documentary.Thank you 🙏🏽Life of poverty and hardship in rural regions should not limit our precious children of education which could potentially lead them to a better life and future.
Finally, a more realistic documentary that shows the difficulties instead of just showing the pretty mountains and making it seem like life is easy there and everyone would just rush to the school! Of course parents are going to be hesitant. They don't know anything about education and what it can offer. And the children help with all the chores. It's a very difficult situation. The date on this said 2004. I would love to know what happened to all these children through the years.

Subjective and mindblowing truth and unfolding of Education system in our beautiful country. I met Mr ngawang in 2005 at gasa when I did my apprentice teacher in gasa lss. Memories are very fresh.

Real dedicated and contributer in nation building, not by words atleast (no long explanations and showing off) instead silent hero and true selflessness from inner core of the heart to serve TSA-WA-SUM...Long live originality, silent hero and real selfless servant of GNH Country...

I believe Lunana Yak in the Classroom is made based on this documentary. Hats off to Lopen Nawang for his dedication and being this children light in the darkness 😇😇

@@phuntshotenzin7934 the screen play is all same .. if the international award giver sees than it might be a problem .. the shortfilm was awarded based on the screen plays and story .. which is like a copy work, just my opinion as a media guy .
The main storyline is about a teacher who goes to this remote place to teach. That's the end of story here. Only new thing is Yak in the class room. And one important thing that my friends always used to say is that this documentary was made using android and the movie was made using iPhone. To be short I loved both the documentary and the movie.
