Looks amazing!!! Im actually an A level photography student who's just started the theme "Identity" for my AS year and i found your video on the topic really helpful! Now Ive seen this and its a funny coincidence cause im a PADI open water Diver and i love it!!! Literally yesterday i was trying to find an excuse to link in a diving trip or something with part of my A level photography via the fact that interests are part of identity or something 😭😭

I experienced all of this from my driving instructor (before I decided to switch to RED)... turning up late, cancelling with very short notice (once, he literally cancelled at the doorstep saying he had a bad shoulder), stopping off at the shops, stopping off at his home, driving, or being driven by, fellow learners...the lot! The only thing he didn't do was take me straight out onto a 70 mph road... Kudos to you though handling it, you must be a natural driver!

Just came across your channel! Sorry to hear what you went though that was really shocking ! I just started lessons. I’ve had 6 so far, and my first lesson was straight onto main roads which shocked me I couldn’t handle it. Never driven a car before and it was awful. I did the second lesson and it went a bit better. What am unsure of though is it weird if your instructor taps your thigh occasionally when you’re doing something wrong ? It has happened a few times and I was really shocked I don’t want to seem over the top, but it made me feel off. And then I kept forgetting the palming method and he told me to pull over at the side of road, and he told me to put my hand on gear stick and then he put his hand ontop of mine and showed me whilst looking at me and I looked away as I felt uncomfortable like I thought they aren’t allowed to touch you it just felt weird, like before he just showed me himself doing it so why do that now, I don’t feel like an enjoying lessons sorry for the rant.

Man, I’m so sorry you went through this, I can relate so much because when I was 17 I also enrolled on driving lessons, but my instructor was an absolute monster. He really stressed me out and rushed things far too much, and he was a bully because he shouted at me, sweared at me like there was no tomorrow and on what was my last lesson with him said I was the worst student he’d ever had. That was the point of no return because I then reported him and since that lesson I’ve not had any driving lessons since, and I don’t think I ever will because he destroyed my motivation to learn to drive.

I’m training to be a driving instructor now, it’s interesting to hear your experience. Qualifying as an instructor is not an easy thing and has something like a 70% failure rate. Part 3 of the process is a test of the instructors ability to instruct/teach and it’s the most difficult stage to pass. After you pass, DVSA conduct regular standards checks on instructor’s to ensure they maintain high standards.

To anyone that it may concern, if you experience any behaviour by your driving instructor that makes you feel deeply uncomfortable or upsetting ask the instructor to stop the lesson because you feel unwell. THEN GET OUT OF CAR , REFUSE TO GET BACK IN , ASK FOR A REFUND OR THEY WILL BE REPORTED TO THE DVSA.

Sounds exactly like my old instructor, except my stubborness and fear of change (Autism) made me spend 1000 before I changed, has taken me months to unlearn dangerous habits, confidence is still shot though. Test in a month though hope it will be ok! He was constantly on the phone also and sometimes talking in another language,which cool for diversity but not in that situation.

When i was in school the school had their own driving lessons you could take and they were free since youre a student or upcoming student i did good in the classroom portion i passed all of that the driving portion came up and it was me another student and the instructor my mom spoke to the instructor before we began and told him that i didnt have much experience behind the wheel i never driven on a road before only in a parking lot and he acted like everything would be good well that first day of driving he literally made me cry he yelled at me told me i was one of the worse students he ever had he would not trust me to be on the road and then had a talk with my mom..i wanted to stop the lessons but i continued he wasnt as rude to me the next two days but he was still a bit of an ass and would get distracted with his phone or have us pull off into places like gas stations so he could go in and use the bathroom or stop by the school so he could drop stuff off and literally the second day of driving he had us on the highway after he told me he didnt trust my driving he made me drive 60-70 mph on a freakin highway??? I was 15 at the time and im now 22 still no license

Just call the school and get new instructor simple

Learning how to drive was hell for me too. I only did it because it’s one of the requirements to live in Cyprus. There’s many more things I need to do to realise my dream. That’s what kept me going though when I was struggling.

the same thing happened to me back in 1991/1992 more needs to be done to protect pupils against bad driving instructors I hope that someone from the DVLA will watch this !!!!!

I had a driving instructor for all of 3 lessons…my final straw was him making me pull up on the side of a busy road so he could get out and go to pee in a bush…..he also had major anger issues…he would scream and constantly punch the dash board….😂 I got a new instructor and passed my test last week

driving instructors need to be nicer because what if the student has a panick attack while they are driving beacuse of them and then they do worse as a result of that 😃

On my first lesson, he asked me if i have ever driven a car.. i said "no, never". His reply was "get in the car, there is the clutch, there is the gas, go!".. keep in mind that we were in a buisy boulevard... He never explained anything to me and proceeded to yell if i make a mistake about something he never explained... And so on, and so forth... The devastation, i can't wait until this nightmare is over 😢😢😢

I’m really torn on what to do with my driving instructor 😭 i paid a full $425 for 4 lessons and so far i’ve had 2 and am dreading the last 2 lessons. I will say that yes she can be very nice, patient, and friendly. But there were so MANY times where she would get impatient, raise her voice, and repeatedly say “WELL THEN TURN” or “TURN TURN TURN” if i wasn’t turning quickly enough or if i stayed too long stopping before turning. I also told her i barely have experience with parking and it’s like she expected me to know how to park and get it the first try. She would make me feel very panicked and rushed when learning to park, that i don’t even know what i’m learning and looking for when parking. Especially when i’m not turning the steering wheel the right way and in the right time, she would get extremely impatient and start yelling on what to do. She is also very talkative and chatty when i’m focused on driving. It’s especially hard for me to talk while i’m driving as i’m not comfortable in driving yet. I’m not sure if i should suck it up and take the last 2 lessons or if i should cancel and find another instructor. it’s very conflicting because she is a very nice person to talk to when she’s not teaching but when she is, it can be very frustrating and nervewracking😭

I have been watching your videos with my son as he prepared for uni interviews and to have a look at what to expect from a creative undergraduate course, it's good to see these follow up videos of what life is like once you leave education and yes, adulting is hard. When my son has a little dip in his creativity I encourage him to just do something, make a mess, play and have no particular end point to work towards, often that will spark an idea for something more substantial, perhaps you could try the same and see if it leads somewhere.
