Everyone has doubts - and rightly so. After all, we're not infallible, and we're never going to _be_ infallible. And sure, we typically want the religion we were taught to believe as a child to be true, but other theists, taught to believe _other_ religions, want _them_ to be true. So how do we tell which religion, if any, really _is_ true? Obviously, faith isn't the way. Believers in _every_ religion have faith. That's because faith is indistinguishable from wishful-thinking. And there is nothing - literally *nothing* - so crazy, so harmful, or so wrong that it _can't_ be defended by an appeal to faith. As we've learned over the centuries, *evidence* is how we distinguish reality from delusion and wishful-thinking. So, do you have one piece of good evidence, specific enough and in enough detail that I can judge it for myself, that your god is real, rather than simply imaginary? Just *one?* Or maybe *one piece of good evidence* that _any_ of the magical/supernatural stories in the Bible actually happened? After all, _every_ religion has stories. Unfortunately, stories aren't always true. If you believe something because you have faith, you're just saying that you don't have a good reason to believe it. If you _do_ have a good reason for believing something, you explain the reason, right? As far as I can tell, all religions just have faith, not evidence, backing up their diverse, contradictory claims. But their believers really, really _want_ it to be true - typically, whichever religion and whichever god or gods they were taught to believe as a child. Sure seems a lot like wishful-thinking to _me._
Do you have any hard evidence to prove that there is NOT a God? Both of these ideas require a measure of faith. If you watch the message in this video, you will see how we explore this idea further. Blessings and peace to you.
Great song Brent!
"Messing up god's plan" is all Christians see in the Hagar incident. But the REST of us see a human woman who was being kept and worked as a slave who was then r@ped by Abraham until she got knocked up. Then she and his child were both tossed out into the desert to die like so much garbage. Abraham was about as much a monster as that god of his. He begged, pleaded, and bargained for Sodom and Gomorrah, but didn't bat an eyelash when his own child was thrown out with the mother he had r@ped. He didn't bat one when he told to execute the other kid, either. The guy is GROTESQUE.
Morning. “There Is Sunshine In My Heart Today”
There is no limit. Faith in Him allows us to take the pieces in front of us ..put them together
As we follow..we have confirmation in our soul. We may not see immediate effect…our belief and actions are the limitless God has to affect those who see.watch.and listen
There are no limits. I believe we are to take the pieces we have and put them together. Faith in Him allows those pieces do Hos work.
Good morning.

Just wondering, why practice Lent?
Lent has a rich history in the Christian tradition as (historically) a season of preparation for baptism that would happen at Easter. Now, it is a time for penance, traditionally expressed through spiritual disciplines such as prayer and fasting. These disciplines are not intended to be self-punishment or even self-improvement, but rather are meant to lead us back to the grace of God we receive through our baptism. It’s a time of focus, sacrifice, and preparation for the coming celebration of Easter.
