Thanks for uploading. Resident interested in local history.
Impressive project, but through modern eyes, we impelled to ask, would this project have been worthy of the 🌈✔ ? 🤔
Look at it now ,
Looks safe and clean , would have been a nice place for kids.
This is nothing to be proud of... I was a content visitor to the park and this destruction of bird and animal habitat was very distressing to see.
Can't beat Rockdale fish cocktail
Hahaha 🤣Hava nuva can
Yes, a place of mass experimentation and natural devastation within Sydney. At such a beautiful place.

What happened to the slide?
Thanks for posting. This is awesome little gem. 👍👍
Oh , how right you were Judge Gorham (14:38). Sadly, our First Nations people are still not understood well nearly 50 years later.
About time ⏲️ 👏
I wish that I could be part of that accomplishment.
Thank you
Looking forward to the children being able to play tennis at Scarborough park thank you
Thanks so much. Very fun to watch as my kid and I often walk by to check out what is happening but can’t really see, so she is super excited now!
I was born at Lydham Hall Rockdale in 1943 - now a Historic Council House, it had stables, outer servants rooms from the main house. There was a well at the front of the property. I heard it was a snake pit at one stage? The stables were demolished in the early 1950s. Some of the sandstone was taken to Boys Town Engadine to build foundations for the Boystown Apprentice School teaching rooms. At election time (in my teens), I used to set up an ALP table outside the Bexley Post Office, on occasions, it appeared to be a bit of a competition between Rockdale Councilor Rathbone ( Lib), - ( not sure of the spelling now), as to who arrived first for the best spot. I remember going into the Bexley Post Office to buy a penny stamp once. The Morse code was clicking on the back wall, There were two Australian Post Officers serving on the counter. One said to the other- 'Did You hear that- Mrs. Smith? Jones has died - the other Officer said - get the boy to pedal ( on the iron bike), down to Oriental St, to tell her daughter. Once I recall people seeing each other in the shopping center - one said to the other - have you seen Tom? lately - reply - didn't you hear - he was killed in the Middle East during the War. I recall many stories as I grew up in Rockdale.A lot of great memories- some not so good. PM Gough Whitlam had a great Welcome at Rockdale Town Hall. Harold Holt had a terrified look on his face when he left the Rockdale Town Hall, the crowd was thumbing on his Yank Tank. Loved watching the aircraft coming into land at Kingsford Smith Field from the attic window A lot of the streets around Lydham Hall are named after the children born there. Clarence St/ Herbert St/ Frederick St/ Harrow Rd.,/ etc. I think Lydham Hall is haunted. It was a different era then.
Omg I can’t believe this place is finally going to see the light of day again after so many years. Amazing.
Have you been back since it reopened? It looks ok, but also think they could have done better.

Where is 2020 Destinations? No vision?
Could you please guide on how to access online book for kids
Thank you for your video Councillor Joe Awada. So easy to understand and good information.
You are very welcome
Awesome. Don't forget to also celebrate Australians of English descent Week, Australians of Chinese descent Week, Australians of Italian descent Week, Australians of Indian descent Week, Australians of Scottish descent Week, Australians of Vietnamese descent Week, Australians of Greek descent Week etc. Every person of every race in Australia is EQUALLY important and must be EQUALLY respected and honored. We are either ALL Australian with EQUAL rights, privileges and benefits or we are not.
❤❤❤

I haven't seen the council plant a single street tree in the 13 years I have lived in Bexley North! However they are quick to remove poisoned trees and this video just sums up the attitude of trees cause more damage than they are worth.
Im in bexely north to 😃 but we do have alot of trees on our streeet so no need for trees
Nice
Okay, so when will Bayside Council allow property owners to create verge gardens? If property owners are responsible for any plumbing issues beyond their plot connecting to the Sydney Water infrastructure on council property, then can owners have control over what we want planted?
In the study "Tuned in: plant roots use sound to locate water" published in Oecologia, UWA researchers found that plants can sense sound vibrations from running water moving through pipes or in the soil, to help their roots move towards the source of water. The study also revealed that plants do not like certain noises and will move away from particular sounds. Lead researcher Dr Monica Gagliano from UWA's Centre of Evolutionary Biology at the School of Animal Biology said water was a basic need for a plant's survival, and the study showed that sound plays a significant role in helping plants cater to this need. "We used the common garden pea plant (Pisum sativum) as the model for our study and put the plant into a container which had two tubes at the base, giving it a choice of two directions for the growth of its roots. "We then exposed the plant to a series of sounds, including white noise, running water and then a recording of running water under each tube, and observed its behaviour. The scientists found that the plants could tell where the source of the water was and their root systems grew towards that source based on sensing the sound of running water alone. "It also was surprising and extraordinary to see that the plant could actually tell when the sound of running water was a recording and when it was real and that the plant did not like the recorded sound." Dr Gagliano said when moisture was readily available in the soil, the plant did not respond to the sound of running water. "From this we begin to see the complexity of plant interactions with sound in using it to make behavioural decisions," Dr Gagliano said. The research has important implications for understanding the behaviour of plants and how it affects their survival. "It indicates that the invasion of sewer pipes by tree roots may be based on the plants 'hearing' water and shows that their perception of their surroundings is much greater and far more complex than we previously thought
Rockdale Park is a great place to sit and eat lunch. It's good to see a water feature running thru there again.
When will Bayside Council reopen beaches for exercise in line with public health orders?
