Awesome, can't wait to try this. You make it look so easy, but I bet it's going to take me a while. I wish I had this kind of smooth concrete floor somewhere. Our garage's concrete floor is much rougher. At least we have a nice hardwood floor in the living room.

I wonder if your powerdyne arius platinum plates are a big advantage to your skating style - I think so… good choice of music for this video… 😊

@@billglenn10 I think tools can help but having skated in other skates before, in the end it seems like the time you put in is the biggest factor! I think the tools also probably just help shape whatever style because you adapt to whatever you have.
I think about those moves while out on the skate floor - but I'm far from being able to do them... Fun to watch... :)

Aw thank you so much! I didn't know people have those events either! A fellow skate friend who is also a visual artist invited me - the art gallery owner I think asked him to bring some of his skate friends and get down in there :)

Yes- I had to start with a mix of red and the teal color, and then moved to the yellow/green color. I still haven't moved to white yet

Leave it to me to do something unorthodox… but, I never untie my skate boots - the laces have a permanent knot that never get loosened - I lace them up by pulling the laces snug through the lower eyelets and then zig zag them across the upper hooks… This way I always have the same tension - session after session. But I appreciate your video... !

Do you think the Power dyne plate would be a good upgrade for a 67 YO purely recreational skater? (I can’t find anyone who knows anything about that plate)
which plate of Powerdyne's? Do you mean the Arius?
@@zaylaskayta Yes, the Arius... they are dramatically different from the common "post & stacked cushion: design... it seems like a better set-up - but I'm not sure...
@@billglenn10 I think it really is preference and what you are using them for. Some people love having that kingpin feel and that is what they are used to. My first skates had a kingpin, and then I just saw a lot of skaters who had similar styles to what I was drawn to, and they had the Arius and I asked a few their experiences, so I went with that. I've tried different cushion setups since I started, as at first I was used to a firmer feeling. Now I have way more 'give' on the edges and it's smooshier with the yellow-green ones (started using the red and darker green). So it might take some experimenting to find what feel you like and how much smoosh on the edges. I also particularly like small wheels, so that too made the Arius a better choice than most where the kingpin would have hit the ground with small wheels.
