Lake St. Clair - Smallmouth Bass Fishing (8/12/24)
I have been fishing up around the Anchor Bay area mostly, but I decided to check out what the Mile Roads have to offer. I've heard great things about the Mile roads. I just didn't catch a ton of fish on this particular day, but I did find some great spots to go back to once the fall bite starts up. There's so much lake to explore, and eventually I'd like to head over to Canadian waters. For now, I'll stick to the east side where I'm getting comfortable.

Lake St. Clair - Smallmouth Bass Fishing (8/5/24)
มุมมอง 1259 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
I try to get out on St. Clair whenever I see some decent weather and wind. Being 2 hours away makes it difficult to fish there a ton. I found a couple decent spots on a previous trip that I went back out to initially, but the fish weren't there. I decided to drive further across the lake to a nice channel opening and found some good fish. All were caught on drop-shots. I even got a couple bonus...
Wauseon Upper Reservoir - Kayak Bass Fishing (7/23/24)
มุมมอง 399 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
I decided to fish the upper reservoir instead of the lower reservoir. I primarily fish the lower reservoir because it has a little more structure to it. The upper reservoir is just your basic reservoir (round with a rocky bank). Nevertheless, I ended up catching some decent fish after I figured out what they wanted. I really started catching them when I put on a chartreuse colored Roboworm (PUM...

This was only my second time on St. Clair. My first time wasn't as successful as this trip out. I spent most of the early morning searching out deeper, trying to locate fish and had no luck, so i finally went in shallower and ended up finding a spot that they were loaded in. In about 8' of water and denser weeds, I caught about 10 Smallies in an hour. All were right around 3 lbs. There is so mu...

It was a very windy day on Higgins. The drop-shot wasn't usable in the high winds, so it was a swimbait day. Slow rolling on the bottom was the key. Landed a couple Smallies, and many nice-sized Rockies. Another great day on this beautiful lake.

This was a slay fest on the Maumee River. I grew up creek and river fishing, and there's something about it that just excites me. I caught close to 25 Smallies this day, but ran out of battery in my GoPro, so not all are shown. I went back a couple days later with my dad and nephew and caught another 15 or so. They were just on a feeding frenzy, and luckily I was there to take advantage of it. ...

I was doing some research and discovered that this reservoir has some good Smallmouth fishing, so I had to take a trip over there. I fished a big rock pile that went all the way through the middle of the reservoir, and was about 8' under the water. Had success ripping a crankbait off the rocks, and even got a Smallie on a drop-shot. It was a nice couple hours of fishing, and I might have to go ...

We were supposed to head up into the U.P., but the weather was absolutely terrible, so we went about as far north as we could without getting drenched, and made it up to Little Telaverse Bay for the morning and spent the rest of the day in Petoskey afterwards. It was a heat wave with temps feeling like 100 , so it was pretty tough to stay on the boat for 4 hours with no breeze, but I did. AND i...

This was definitely one of my favorite times on the water. It was a bit windy and busy for my liking, but we went out anyway. We grabbed pizza from Buccilli's Pizza beforehand so we could eat dinner out on the boat. It was awesome! Sunset was gorgeous, and I managed to catch a few good Smallies along with all the Rock Bass. Higgins is growing on me. It's such a beautiful lake. Pizza, fishing, a...

We took our boat and our rooftop tent over to our favorite camping spot for the night. I caught a decent amount of fish. None were giants, but it was still worth the trip. The best moment of the day was when my better half saved one of my go-to lures. I set the hook on a fish, my line snapped, and my lure was gone. About 5 min later, she spotted it a good distance away from where I had original...

This was the fifth and final time we fished on our annual family trip. The morning was very slow. I typically catch a ton of fish in the morning on topwater lures, but that wasn't the case this day. It was a grind for a while, but we finally figured out what they wanted. I caught my limit of Largemouth Bass pretty easy. Pa, on the other hand, had a rough time for a while. This was the fourth time we fished on our annual family trip. My grandpa enjoyed fishing Higgins Lake so much the day prior that he wanted to get back on it again. This was the third time we fished on our annual family trip. We went to one of our favorite lakes, which will remain nameless. It's one of the most peaceful and natural lakes I've been on. Although the fish didn't bite like we'd hoped, it was still exactly what we came for. Peace and quiet, and nature at its finest.

@abbottangling Nice. We camp at the North Park some regularity. We usually stay in the northern portion and fish the rock reef drop that runs from the island to the shore. We usually hit a few smallies along with the rock bass. I'm hoping to ding a couple trout this year.

    • @abbottangling
      @abbottangling 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

The motor is the actual thing mounted to the trolling motor. It is easily visible. That is what is turning the pole left and right. As far as the actuator, it is mounted where all of my other electrical is. It is just tucked away and isn't visible.

But just a suggestion when releasing them just hold them in the water move them side to side not back and forth That used to be the way with them but in the past years they say that it’s like rushing air through the gills then sucking it out of them.
