I encountered substantial route blockages from Byculla to Hazarimal Somani Road, causing a severe traffic jam. Despite taking a detour that added 45 minutes to my commute, I arrived at the marathon venue by 5:20 am. Unfortunately, the bouncers and organizers denied entry, displaying rude behavior, and even pushing back some other full marathoners who wanted to proceed. Compelled to join the full marathon with 10k runners at 6:00 am, I faced numerous challenges on the route. There were no map markers for late starters, and hydration support was insufficient. Many full marathon runners who started with me were discouraged due to the lack of hydration, but I pressed on. Beyond 21 kms, hydration support became even more problematic, with no water stations for several kilometers, or they being ghosted. I had to purchase water from local shops, and the volunteers frequently provided incorrect route directions. Beyond 31 kms, I couldn't locate timing mats, despite being well within the permissible 7-hour time limit. At the finish line, no timing mats were visible, and the team had already packed up. Furthermore, there was no breakfast or medals post-run. Having had positive experiences in TMM half marathons in 2019 and 2023, this time, I am thoroughly disappointed.
