I make music when I feel like making it
I got a SAXOPHONE :0
I made with Cubase 13 Pro, composed with a saxophone, a piano, a bass and a drum kit - plus some finger snaps.
.
After starting this channel and posting my music online for months, I started wondering what is the sound of my music as a composer - then again distracted by the desire of learning how to write in different styles :0 But I guess this is also a way to find my own musical voice??? I don't know, maybe only time will tell LOL
.
VST used:
- Saxophone: Saxophones from Acousticsamples
- Piano: Piano in Blue by Cinesamples
- Bass: Prime bass from Naative Instruments
- Drums: Steven Slate Drums 5.5
- Finger Snaps (Because I can't): Le Snappet from Boz Digital Labs

I composed this piece in Cubase 13 with piano only. Special thanks to @vortexizinho2588 for the inspiration on the video title :0 . Tried to write a piano waltz and added some classical piano vibes. Hope you enjoy! . VST Used: NI Noire tinyurl.com/4r8ww9kx *As some of them are affiliate links, I'll receive a commission if you decide to grab these products, which helps supporting this channel!

I made this with Cubase 13, using only instruments from Dark Era by Eduardo Tarilonte! . I've tried my best for NOT spending that much during the Black Friday but I just can't resist to buy more Eduardo Tarilonte's libraries...THEY ARE SO BEAUTIFUL!!!! So I wrote this to try out the library and it sounds great out of the box!!!! . VST used: - Dark Era by Eduardo Tarilonte tinyurl.com/ykpjjbwp (...

During the Black Friday, I purchased some creative fx plugins, including the energy planner and the brightness panner from Sound Particles! LIFE IS PAIN (part 2)

I made this piano solo piece with Cubase 13. . Behind the track: As a sequel to the LIFE IS PAIN series, this time I tried to focus on how ones get lost and feel uncertain, because of the unpleasant moments in life… After working full-time, spending most time of the day on tasks that are meaningless to me, have to face some bad guys in work… sometimes I start wondering if it's a right decision ...

I made this with Cubase Pro 13, using only a FREE VST called Super Audio Boy, from Impact Soundworks! . This project is quite difficult for me because this music style is very different from what I wrote before: 1. I don't know how drums work 2. As a Gen Z, the sound of retro game music just sound sooooo different from what I'm more used to BUT CHIPTUNE SOUNDS SO COOL!!! So I'm trying on this s...

I made this with Cubase Pro 13, using a piano, an oboe and strings. . One of my friend said my music is too sad so I decided to write something happier ;) But at the time being I don't want to write something that's “super happy” or “energetic positive emotion”, because I've done something like this before… However, I've never compose soft, happy music… then several love cues came to my mind…so...

When I was composing this track, I was about to start working for full-time ;) ...So my friend suggest me to write a serirs of music compositions, titled “life is pain”, before and after having a day job, to see the changes in how I interpretate “life is pain” through music ;) . I made this with Cubase 13, with some Chinese instruments, strings, low winds, harpsichord, Glockenspiel, Celeste and piano. . As halloween is coming, I'm gonna write something that sounds halloween! TURN ON CAPTION I composed this with Cubase 13, using a guqin and and piano. . Thank you so much for 100 sub!!!!! I hope this piece is good enough to be a 100 sub special ;) . So for this piece, I picked these two instruments for the instrumentation because if I translate “guqin” literally then it will be “an ancient piano”, so why not give it a try on a duet of the “pianos” from the East and t...
Tried my best to make this violin sound realistic (Genshin Impact OST Mockup | The Edge of Prairie)
มุมมอง 2463 หลายเดือนก่อน
TURN ON CAPTION I made this mockup in Cubase 13. . I like to practice my music production skills through remaking tracks, because I can train my ears, analyze others' composition, experiment on midi programming and practise mixing at the same time haha. . For this time, I would like to challenge myself to make a virtual violin sounds more realistic, so I chose to remake this Genshin Impact OST....

TURN ON CAPTION I made this with cubase 13, starting with a clarinet and a piano, then added some sound effects, so as my earbuds which I sampled a while ago. . For this track, the basic idea is to write a simple, flowing piano and clarinet duet. sounds like that one dream that has a really meaningful story that meant alot to you but then you woke up and only remember bits and pieces of it and then its lost forever in your mind and never comes back again
This reminds me of Touhou music, good job
Beautiful!
/This is one of those Sunday afternoons, sitting next to someone warm, a clock ticking in the background, looking out of the window as the leaves play circlets in the wind. All is peaceful as you sit perched between relaxed awareness and gentle slumber. Your understanding and appreciation of your life and experiences are played out before you! Music with humanity, life experiences, and warmth - at its best! Thank you !😊
Reminds me a lot of Ashes of Dreams from Nier Replicant
i hope you are doing well too! this sounds absolutely beautiful :)
This song sounds AMAZING! You deserve A LOT more viewers for your hard work.
Thank you so much for liking my music!!!
Sounds great! How is Cubase for Jazz? I use FL, which is doable, but it's very clunky haha.
I don't know much about Jazz but in general, I think Cubase is super easy to use! Hope this helps :)
This would fit great in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
OMG THAT IS MY FAVORITE GAME :0
This melody reminds me of something, i dont know why
Maybe you have heard something similar before :0
Spill the beans, TH-camr >:c
I absolutely love the vibe this gives off. It makes me want to return to playing my beloved instrument. I'll definitely catch up with the rest of your work in my free time.
Your comment makes me want to pick up my flute again after a 2-year break :') I think I should write a flute piece and record myself playing in the future... And thanks for liking my music that you wanna listen to the rest of them too!! That makes my day :)
Its BEAUTIFUL, and ye i think jazz is very much close to pop genres. But that is to say about Jazz standarts, if you listen to Jazz FUSION you will find yourself in something incredibly different, but also beautiful; Chick Corea, Frank Zappa (if you listen to the album Waka/Jawaka, maybe) and Spinetta Jade are some Jazz Fusion artists i can recommend to you :DDD
SUPER THANKS FOR THE RECOMMENDATIONS!!! Guess what? I've accidentally listened to Chick Corea's Spain before I wrote this composition, when I was trying to understand that jazz vibes :0 (Special thanks to Tidal's random track function LOL) And to be honest, personally I love this kind of music more than many other jazz classics :0 Fortunately I have your comment here and told me that these are called Jazz Fusion!!!! So that I can find these sorts of music easily online or on tidal!!!
@TYMusic217 PLS listen to Chick Corea's Tiny Desk ITS BEAUTIFUL, i sent another comment saying this but idk what happend to it hehhehe
WHAT!? I didn't see that comment! Maybe there's some bug on TH-cam LOLLL Back to the great music, YES YOU ARE RIGHT IT'S ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFULLL!!!!
i love this, keep up the good work 👍
Thanks so much :)
you have no idea how happy that flute makes me, I absolutely love it. may I ask where it is from?
Do you mean which vst I used? For the Irish flute which plays the main melody, it's the one from celtic era, and for the Orchestral flute and piccolo, they are from spitfire audio's BBCSO. Hope this helps :)
I quite enjoyed this piece. It really captured the feeling of its title.
Glad that you enjoyed this piece!!! I won't forget that when I was composing this piece, thoughts just keep popping out one after the other, non-stop :0 There's one good thing though - it didn't take much time to compose this piece :P
this is very jazzy you're a bartender, tired, you're thinking of quitting your job and then a group of customers come in, you serve them with the most enthusiasm you can muster (which isn't a lot) and the lead one puts on a face of sympathy. they ask about when you're on break. you tell them, and they wink at you eagerly, telling you to stay around the area for a "surprise" you're perplexed, what could this surprise possibly be? what do these people want to do with an ordinary bartender who's sick of their job? then tomorrow, as soon as you're on break you follow their instructions, staying in the building and leaning against the wall, waiting for them to come in. and then like 20 of them come in with instruments of different sizes and sounds, when you only served a quarter of that amount yesterday! they start playing this sick beat, and you think maybe this job isn't so bad after all.
Gosh, I love this story! Like when you saw some heartwarming words or videos when you are having a tough time, and a thought of "well, this world is beautiful after all," then comes to your mind... This is the key thing we can do to make the world a better place! I hope there will always be such a group of customers come to you and make your day shines :)
i was though "right here waiting" at the first xD
Oops :0
I love the solemn melodies in this song.
Thanks for liking it!!! :)
Sounds like a medieval video OST you should make songs for video games
Thank you very much :') This is my dream too, and it's been a while since the last game jam I've joined. I guess the worst scenario will be "I spending countless hours of time learning about game development so that I can finally write music for a game" :0
chiptune is basically my favorite genre, and i love this! i personally think stereo is better because panning different instruments to different sides creates more immersion into the piece, even if it is based on older music styles that always used mono
Cool idea! Adding modern vibes to retro sounds may be a nice idea too 🤔
I notice you use 3/4 time signature a lot. I find it really interesting, too. Almost everyone writes in 4/4 for any style, and my personal preference is 6/8. I think it's really cool that you use a less common time signature to give you music a different feel
Yes I noticed that too :') Always come up with a 3/4 tune and I'm going to challenge myself with various time signatures this year!
i can understand why you thought about life while writing this. the slow, flowing nature of the piece combined with the clarinet melody make it very sentimental and deep
That could be the reason!!! :0
damn.
:0
mario galaxy vibes. reminds me of the library story time
Mario Galaxy soundtracks are great!!! And now I miss the library story time.... :')

Hmm I didn't know this song 🤔 but I'll take a listen!!
So much of this reminds me of Johnny Costa. He played the piano on Mr. Roger's Neighborhood. I highly recommend listening to his COsta Plays Gershwin album. Some very similar compositional choices here!
Oh!! Super thanks for the recommendation, and I will definitely give it a listen!! Feel free to share more on the music/ albums you like. It's always nice to see people talk about nice music :D
It reminds me Justin Hurwitz - Audition (The Fools Who Dream) from La-La Land
Thanks for reminding me that this movie has been on my movie-to-watch list for years :0
Beautiful song! Ican see a whole famce to this beautiful somg😍🤟🔥🔥❤️❤️
thank you so much :D
@TYMusic217 your welcome!
sounds like the person listening to the other is feeling annoyed, because what were they saying? but also a hint of guilt at interrupting them or something, and the question if it was something extremely personal to the other and you're probably never gonna find out what that thing is that they wanted to tell you so, so bad but stopped. idk lmao
Nice thoughts! And also worrying about what others may think about you after you tell them that thing - that sort of anxiety which we understand that it's unnecessary when we are talking to somebody we trust, but we just can't get rid of it... :')
This is so beautiful, m8...
Thanks for liking my music :D
Bro casually drops the greatest composition and only gets 16K views???? Need more recognition for this man/woman/unsure/idk.
As an aspiring composer, 16k views shocked me already :0 Super glad that I live in the era which indie musicians can easily share their music to the world!!! Super thanks for your kind words :D
Sounds like NieR in the beginning 😮
when you listened to the great soundtracks for so many times and write something similar unconsciously :,) Since then, I tried harder to avoid this from happening again...
Wow, beautiful piece. Which piano VST/plugin do you use? Sounds damn near a real one to my poor ears.
Thank you!! For this track, I used Piano in Blue from Cinesamples, but I think they now include it in Musio, which also comes with lots of great sounds! Hope this helps :)
unliked this video because the guy said "im not good at piano" (what's obviously not true) just to farm subscribers and likes.
It's totally fine to unlike my videos, but seeing this comment makes me feel sorry to the other musicians who play and record their great piano pieces...so I'd like to explain how I program midi piano a bit... For those difficult runs I always use midi step input and add tempo changes afterward because I can't play that, and for the easier part in this composition, I had to hit record and then play for a few times, 2 bars each, until I got something that sound better to my ears, then add some quantization... I hope I don't have to input midi notes in this way because this is the main reason why I compose slow... Still, this makes my piano pieces kind of lifeless because I used too much quantization, so now I keep practicing piano (currently with Michael Aaron Piano Grade 3 book fyi)... hoping one day I can be good at this instrument
this is amazing keep up the good work!
Thanks for the kind words :)
The reason why I'm starting to a yt channel about music composition is exactly what you said, to convey my emotional ideas no matter how chaotic lol (only that my music vocabulary is still lacking imo) Keep up the good work!
It's nice to see more people are posting their original compositions in this era!! It's also interesting to listen how different composers' music sound so different when they are writing about similar topics :0
I didn't expect that, good work man, I appreciate your music, happy new year
Haha thanks for your comment! Really inspired me on how to complete this piece :0 Thanks for supporting. Happy new year!!
@TYMusic217 your music really inspires me too, I was thinking of creating a channel to post my music, because I make music too, and now, I think I will actually do it
I'd love to see that!! Pls tell me when you start posting your music :D
This is stunning! I love the bass transition at 0:43!
Thanks for liking my music and Merry Christmas :)
"i wanted to tell you that... Oh, i didnt say anything"
This may actually be a nice title for the new composition I'm working on🤔
@@TYMusic217 your music is really great by the way, keep working on it
So fun! We should hear more of this. And according to my recent knowledge, suona horn does not originate in China, but from the Middle East. But sitll, thumbs up!
Yep I think zurna from the middle east is the parent of the chinese suona, similar relationship like the western lute and the middle east oud. But suona is also widely used in Chinese traditional music too (especially Lunar new year music in Southern China) and the playing style is so different from zurna in middle east, so I think it's fine to categorize it as one of the modern chinese instrument🤔 One of the reason I like ethnic instruments and music so much is that you can see how music is translated and transformed in different culture. Really hope one day these music will become more familiar to the public :0
@@TYMusic217 Suona is often used in game OST for battle music. But from where I grew up (south-west China), this instrument was heared the most at funerals... Out of curiosity, I haven't heard any suona solo in game music to express sadness and hope to see this happen in the future.
Suddenly realised that we could chat in Chinese because I'm from Hong Kong XD I usually heard suona in Chinese new year music and funeral music (so as battle/action cues you mentioned) Maybe I should try to write a sad track with suona in the future :0
@@TYMusic217 Surely looking forward to that! Actually, in my other comment in your Genshin mockup video, what I meant is that, Wukong is still in heat on social media platforms, and by recreating some of its tracks, you might attract quite a lot of viewers to you channel, and you deserve to be heard by more people! And finally maybe you can read 简体中文?
Yes 我繁簡都看得懂,有空可以試試黑悟空扒帶!
And one more thing, so few people like this track. But I still think it is absolutely so full of tension and the tampani at last always gives me the chills...
There are so many hidden gems in Genshin Impact ost even though I'm not a fan of the game haha so sometimes I tried to make mockups on the soundtracks I like :0
@@TYMusic217 Chinese (game/TV/movie music) composers often do good jobs in smooth, slow and melodic songs, but not in something like this track, which brings the whole orchestra to work as a whole. This is why I like this track so much. And apparently you did a fantastic job in breaking down the details of this track and I really enjoyed it.
I'm also amazed by this track because of how repetitive yet interesting it is! This is a great example of how great orchestration can turn a few short music phrases into a dramatic track :0
Wow!!! The strings sound so authentic (I feel so sad for the fake strings in Black Myth Wukong OST)! The only two betrayers are the clarinet and the piccolo (still soooo cute) hahaha...
Never listen to Wukong's ost so I can't comment on that, but I recently got a course about how to make a virtual orchestra sound more realistic during black friday :0 Hope that will give me some insights on how to bring realism to solo passages too :0 Anyway, thanks for your comment!!!
@@TYMusic217 You should try listening to some Wukong sound tracks. Lots of traditional Chinese instruments are used in them. But too badly the authenticity of the orchestra part is NOT EVEN CLOSE to your work.
Now I hear what you meant :0 Although Spitfire BBCSO Brass aren't that great, the strings are quite nice haha
Peaceful times theme 😌✨️
I regret not trying to add some christmas vibes, or maybe it will match this season perfectly :0

Sure! Give me credit and you are good to go! :)

Maybe that's why there are too many thoughts in my head :0
This is wonderful! How do you get noire to sound so crisp and clear? Do you use it as it is or do you tweak something? Also do you use the noire pure or noire felt?
Thanks for liking it! In this track, I used noire pure (Emotional preset), did some EQ to cut the mid and slightly boost the highs with Transgressor 3 and Neutron 3 EQ, and add 3 kinds of reverb - room, hall and lastly the free Valhalla Super Massive. Hope this helps :)
@TYMusic217 thanks! I'll try out this preset next time
