I bought a Rolex 16610 in 2005. Been wearing it almost everyday since. Kinda getting tired of Rolex. Thins is what drew me to this channel

IDK…Leaving factory stickers on one’s Rolex eventually leaves the watch looking like a beautiful woman with a peeling sunburn on her shoulders and forehead… Adding aftermarket stickers…..well….. something in me thinks that’s a new soul vs old soul argument. These things ( cars, watches, leather goods and clothing ect ) are meant to be used and given a life by using them during your own.

I picked up one of their Tonda GT Chronographs last year and have been loving the fact hardly anyone knows what it is. I’ve actually worked a little backwards in my watch collecting journey and am only now about to acquire my first Rolex(126603). Again, I’m really appreciating your styleof watch content👊

I simply love all the two tone models. Yellow gold and steel look good. Just got one the other day. My first Rolex. Simply love it.

Is SD4K bracelet as wide as the latest SD43 ?!

I was looking 👁️ to the watch you are wearing, thinking 🤔 that I am expert, I concluded that it is a no date Sub. I was shocked 😳 once you revealed it’s an SD 4K. I think 🤔 the minute hand covered the date window. It looks amazing 🤩, yet I am not yet convinced to buy it as I like and own the anniversary SD43 and have no problem neither with its big size nor the cyclope ! I would love to add a vintage two lines lollypop dial no Date Sub later.

I'm really considering a 116600. I've had a 16600 previously, which I loved. How does the 116600 wear relative to that? Very similar, or not as comfortable due to being more solid?

I had a Batgirl... Superb watch. Sold it and now have the SeaDweller 43. As much as I loved the Batgirl... the SD43 is killer!!!

This channel and “uptickwatchreviews” are my favourite watch channels. I’m completely the same, I pretty much only buy black dial watches (maybe a white dial if I’m feeling exotic) because anything too out there I get tired of. I daily a Speedy and it just never dates, its always relevant. I like the classics, Subs & Speedys. Same for cars too, basic 911s, Lotus Elise, Caterham 7 and Land cruises. Came for the watches, stayed for the collectors mindset!

I'm jealous. Been on a waiting list for the batman on oyster for about six months. I have no problems waiting for as long as it takes to get it because I don't want to pay over retail. But i'm very happy for you and hope you enjoy it.

Good morning Michael, Love the new watch. Very elegant. I just wanted to ask you your opinion of the GP Laureato, after having watched your video of it a few weeks ago? Is it still one of your favourite watches? I’m considering a purchase. GP or Grand Seiko? Any opinion?

I completely agree with both your main points. The non date watch is cleaner and simply more beautiful due to its symmetry and simplicity, but the date watch is two important elements of time on one watch. The date watch is a better tool. Second the aluminum bezel is far nicer than the ceramic because it’s metal, lighter and most important it won’t shatter. I love my 2006 submariner date even after adding a couple of yacht-masters to my collection I will never sell my pre ceramic submariner w/date. Just had it serviced for the first time and after 4 years I am wearing it daily once again. I prefer the old smaller hour markers and the sleek lugs on the older model submariner by far. The only thing I noticed improved in Rolex watches are the 70 hour reserves and the bracelets, particularly the glide lock clasp.

I agree, in real life, I much prefer the batgirl. It's only in photos that the pepsi pops because you really need to catch exactly the right lighting.

Did you consider a DD40? It seems to check all the boxes you express - different, masculine, slightly flashier but still stealth, legible, etc. Approx same price as the Smurf you contemplated.

Laureato and SW 43 suited you the best. 2-3 months i bet and this one is gone😂. If GMT, than the Bruce Wayne, even in two tone or gold.

MS. T4YC: I am hearing this all the time now. My watch group, or should I say, the people in my watch group who like Rolexes, are all thinning their collections. Generally they're going for an upmarket precious metal watches. OR the classic PP, ALS, or VC route. But absolutely not JLC. As Dylan said, "the times, they are a changing"! (I am not that old BTW)

The 16710 has offset lugs as well. Surely you noticed that when you owned it?

After wrapping up major home improvements this year, I’m nearing a purchase…my fourth independent, this time from Laurent Ferrier. Blue is my favorite color too, so I’m between two references.

SD43 wins for me. Love the bigger bezel. Really, it’s a feature of the watch so increasing the size is a no brainer. I won’t be parting with mine any time.

Enexpected. But nice choice. The Panerai may need to go, its too bulbous. Try the Bucherer blue Radiomir, very slim, with the micro-rotor, very cool. And I think you need a 4 or 5 digit sub - a good moment to buy one and to round out the collection with a daily beater.
