Nice one! How was your summer??

I didn't go traveling after since I didn't have a lot of time left because I had get back to college in the Netherlands. I just went to some friends in Toronto and went home. How was your summer? :D

Hi Karina! Sorry for the late reply. We could drink alcohol during our free time but we were not allowed to take any alcohol on site. So there was a reception where you can store all your liquor and take it with you when you go off site. Same for smoking. We had to get in a car to have a cigarette off site. I applied with ccusa! I would love to go to Costa Rica so maybe we can swap places ;)

She went with CCUSA - its an agency that also run camps in canada I'm looking to go to Canada this June hopefully too if covid allows me to travel!

Hey Fiona! I ended up with earning money. I had to spend most on my flight and the organisation I went with (CCUSA). What I earned is not a lot, but at the end; the memories you’ve made is worth so much more😍

Thank you so much! I went with an organization called ccusa. They help you to prep everything and stand out. Plus, if you apply at an organization like that you are garuanteed to get a spot at a camp somewhere around canada or the usa!

Hi there Jayla! I hope covid will allow us to go ;(! Anyways, as a 17 year old you will need to apply as an cit (counsellor in training). You are the same as a counsellor, the only difference is that you can not be alone with the campers, there always has to be another counsellor around. But this is at my camp! It could be different at other camps though

Hi Tasha, I am from the Netherlands so I was away from my home for 3 months. I am an extravert person and I get energy out of meeting new people and talking with people. If you know you're an introverted person, it can be hard from time to time to work at camp. You live with 3 other people in tents and you are never alone (only if you're on the toilet or showering). I love that about camp, but for others it can be draining. And with the kids.. I had moments in the day that I went back to my tent to just have some time with my collegues. I could do that because we had a team in LIT with 15 people, so collegues would be with the kids than. And personally I don't suffer with homesickness, so I didn't have any issues with that. Besides, I didn't see anyone with homesickness at camp, because it's way to fun to miss home :) I hope I helped you! XX Debby

I went to this camp with ccusa, since I am from the Netherlands. they helped me to get my work permit and made sure that I would work at a camp that would fit me. So, we have loaaads of activities at our camp where kids can chose from during stump. Landsports, waterfront, archery, arts & crafts, yoga, photography, outdoor persuits, music, warf (canoe and paddle boards), mountainbiking etc. We also had special activities like aerial park, horse backriding, paintballing and flyboarding. Hope you will have as much fun as I did :D

Thank you Antonio! More videos about my summer in Canada will follow. I would recommend to apply with an agency like CCUSA or Camp America. I went with CCUSA and they did a good job. It is quite expensive though, but they really make sure you go to a camp you like. Your job is basically to make sure the kids (and yourself) have a great time during their time at camp. You do activities with them or you can teach them curtain skills. A lot of options and a lot of things to talk about. I'm editing a video now where I explain what I did at my camp!

Hi Cerys, it is a great experience and I would recommend it to everyone. I think that depends on the circumstances and the camp where you're working for. You got hired to be a camp counsellor, so if you'd want to go home early there will be a spot free and a lack of labor force. At my camp nobody really wanted to go home, so I didn't experience people leaving in the middle of the summer. I hope that I gave you enough information! Best of luck applying :) <3
