La lingua impatta sicuramente sulla delivery e sulla struttura delle battute (già cambia molto tra l’inglese brittanico e americano quindi figurati in altre lingue) ma conunque si, credo che sia possibile portare le battute in italiano in una maniera corretta. Basta vedere come Eddie Izzard riesce a fare uno special in inglese e francese perfettamente senza perdere lo stile e la delivery. Grazie per il commento!

Yeah maybe, but when there is a reason that the person leading it has always been someone with Māori heritage. Just giving my point of view as someone who as always watched the game and went back to watch older versions of it, also there is a really interesting “Zulu haka” that the Boks were thinking of doing at some point but was binned probably rightfully so. I like the impi coming out before the teams when we play at home, but it would look weird if it was 3 white dudes even though South African culture is (very slowly) melding into one.

@ArcadeStudioPodcast I guess that's our advantage of being New Zealanders. We melded earlier than others as a joint community. We didn't suffer the history of slavery and segregation like the US. We didn't have apartheid like South Africa. I was born in the 70s and in school we had kapa haka clubs. There were just as many Caucasian kids as there were Maori. Maori language classes taught in school. Some 'white' people I know speak better te reo than some Maori. From what I have seen there is more offence taken by the woke white population than there is than by the people they are offended for. And I don't mean to offend you and I'm not wanting to criticise your thoughts and beliefs because you are as entitled to yours as much as I am mine, but as a kiwi of mixed heritage, who grew up in New Zealand, I still respectfully disagree.

well this whole thing is to promote discussion and honestly I've watched quite a few videos about the meaning and history of the Haka as it pertains to rugby specifically and it's super interesting but if you peel away that understanding it may seem a little more one dimensional. Honestly commentators don't really do a good job of explaining the cultural significance apart from "hey lets watch the Ab's throw down - cool hey". I have to say it's more about body language rather than wokey nonsense, the guys in the 70's didn't look like they particularly wanted to do it and they faced the stands rather than the other team (so where is the challenge?) there was little intensity whereas now it's locked in and the people performing it actually look like they mean what they say. Also having seen interviews of ex ab's who have stated that they actually got serious about the thing in the 90's with proper practice time dedicated to it sort of shows that it wasn't as important culturally back in the day . Total coincidence that it became more serious with the advent professionalism in the sport and having an iconic moment where the cameras are completely focused on one team becomes very lucrative, so if nothing else a genius move from the marketing team.

Exactly, if anything my criticism is that wr doesn’t like that confrontation for some reason has disincentivized teams for fronting up. Love when the islanders respond and like I said loved the French just going face to face. It felt like a ufc weigh in sort of thing.

Like I say in the video. The haka itself is great, but should teams be able to front up to the challenge in their own way instead of just accepting it?

@@ArcadeStudioPodcast yea they can, that's the point of the Haka it's a challenge. In the Ab's eyes they are going to battle if you have a cultural challenge you can put forward then do it. Fiji, Samoa, Tonga and NZ all have a cultural challenge and they all use it.

cool but why does it necessarily have to be a cultural challenge... any response should be promoted as long as it's done in the spirit of the game. You have to admit that performing the haka gets the AB's blood going while the other team is just standing getting cold which is why some teams use dodgy delaying tactics to slow down kick off so that the AB's heart rate drops a little and they start coming down from the high. Hey it's cool to just stand there soically like the boks do as well so it's more about the story they tell themselves before the game while preparing to accept the challenge.
