My mixed baby (we think corgi/heeler/staffie/or some other kind of terrier???) he’s a rescue that was flown out before ida hit Louisiana. We adopted him at 5 months old and he had been like this since we adopted him. We never crate trained him (although attempted) because it became a trigger. He only liked his crate when we were next to it with him and or literally in it. He’s 32lbs and long we got him an XL dog crate so size was not a problem. We’ve never had a problem with him being home alone at the house so we scrapped it. We believe he has this idiopathic rage. He has never drawn blood but he is a smaller dog. It most often happens when he has not eaten all his breakfast or smth gone on a walk a little too long, the only thing that will calm him down if at all is when we pick him up. We just end up with bruised arms and maybe torn clothes. His eyes glaze over and starts lunging at us snarling and won’t listen to commands won’t respond to affection or high value treats. After he’s calmed down he gets so guilty showing appeasement behavior. We’ve been dealing with it desensitizing and training out triggers setting daily routines. I got a DNA test to try and better figure out about him. I feel so guilty and we have no idea what to do. The attacks are months apart few and far between anymore. As a result he is not very socialized and reactive he has played with dogs on leash and off leash near professionals. I feel bad because I want him to have a good quality of life I feel like I will never be able to give him. What can we do ?

Guilty 😂❤ dogs are everything

If I someone who just got home from work all sweaty and dirty can sit on my couch then you bet my ass that my dogs will be able to sit on my couch too. This don't allow your pets on funiture bs is just that bs. I can always buy a new couch later down the line. A piece of furniture is not more important than a life. Its just an inanimate object.
