Terrible video
You run the group and the forum!
That’s correct, I run the Facebook group.
What a beaut!
Hi , will be doing a few month holiday in the US from Australia and thinking about getting a dodge to use and then ship back , what would an example of one this nice cost to purchase?
There is a huge range in price from free to over 30k). We put a lot into ours including major hot rod of the engine. I honestly would not sell it and if I did it would be over 50k which isn’t realistic (one went for over 30k on Bring A Trailer). Join the Facebook group “dodge Travco motorhome lovers” and you can see a for sale list of several units
@@Voyagevixen thanks for the reply , I’m one of those that refuses Facebook and social media. I guess I will have to rely on Craigslist and evil bay. Cheers
@@splashpitcheck out my blog with things to look for when purchasing myrtleandme.blogspot.com/2016/05/so-you-want-to-buy-travco.html
please, updates ! how is it running today ??
Running great! Check out the last trip myrtleandme.blogspot.com/
No opening window for driver for traffic stops/toll booths?
Due to leaks and broken slides it was glassed in. We may replace at a later date, we did find some side windows recently that may work. We don’t have toll booths in our province
How much hp Gain you get around 400
Hoe much hp gain
It’s probably about 400 now. Our big goal was torque though
Beautiful!
HP ?
It’s probably about 400 now. Our big goal was torque though
Torque monster!
408 cu. in.? That's quite an increase in engine size (displacement).
Yes! A big increase
@@Voyagevixen Did you have to make any modifications to the engine area?
@@jasoncarpp7742 no, as it’s all internal - same motor mounts and everything. One of the reasons we opted for this approach
@@Voyagevixen That's good to know. 🙂
It’s just as nice underneath!
Ok I have questions if I may lol. What else was done to this engine? Compression? Thanks. Fascinating. If I see Myrtle next year I may approach and ask questions. What a beauty.
I need to do a detailed blog post with all the stats but you can see some details on the blog myrtleandme.blogspot.com/2021/04/engine-update.html
Yay! We found you on TH-cam! - We wrote the article on Rootless Living about our Cortez! Thank you so much for sharing it on your blog! Best regards, Andy and L
She's alive!
I'd buy a vintage Travco if I knew someone who also likes cars of the 1960s.
My dad just gave me his! 1964 Dodge but he made it a point that it was before dodge sold to travco lol! Wished I could pick your brain!
Kelsey Heston hi there. Yes technically they were not called Travco until they sold but they are the same body style and specifications for for ease we refer to them as Travco. I manage a Travco group on Facebook, have you joined? I also have a blog for our motorhome myrtleandme.blogspot.com
@@Voyagevixen oh I know that... he was just proud of the fact it was the “dodge” version. Lol! I will check your page out! We are started to look into renovating.
@@Voyagevixen also I was just accepted into the Facebook group! Posted pictures!
What kind of engine does Myrtle have powering her? V8? Straight 6? Slant 6?
It’s a 318 Poly engine :)
@@Voyagevixen Ahhh! Okay. Is that a V8 engine? I regret that I'm not familiar with Mopar engines of this vintages.
Jason Carpp yes it’s a v8 small block with polyspherical combustion chambers
@@Voyagevixen Ahhhh! Okay. :)
Jason Carpp we don’t do much for videos. She’s currently having an engine rebuild so hopefully this fall we will have more photos etc
I love the aft door in addition to the front door. Why more Travcos weren't offered with that extra door is beyond me.
I'd buy a Dodge Travco if I had someone who also likes road trips.
My dad had a 67 they look the same except for the rear lights and side window
I just bought a 67 with only 3000 miles on the original motor for $3000, actually only 3000 miles worth of wear and tear on the whole vehicle, the only problem is that the whole inside was tore out for refurbishing so I have to rebuild the whole inside just about but on the other hand, the guy had bought all new appliances for it, fridge, stove, sink, air conditioner/heat, new water heater, I mean all the appliances are new but I have to build inside and install it all...I very much look forward to it turning out nice, just as nice as the one in this video.
Paul Davis thanks Paul! I hope you’ve found the Travco Facebook group - lots of help there m.facebook.com/profile.php?id=358395874142&ref=content_filter also on my Myrtle blog there is lots of good info, including many scanned vintage brochures for layout ideas
Your cam work sucks bro fr
Omg that’s a beauty ❤️ you are very lucky to own it!
Naughty44 thank you!
Oh My, Is There a Ghost Opening/ Closing all the doors, Drawers, Cabinets... Woooo. 👻. Scareeeeey. ...
Saw one of these at the lake this weekend. Very cool!
I've never seen a motorhome with two doors on the passenger side of the vehicle. I like that idea. I've also seen some motorhomes that have a door for the driver. I also like that idea. 🙂
Looks like another fun place to camp. Where is this?
Jason Carpp it’s Bleriot Ferry www.albertaparks.ca/parks/central/bleriot-ferry-pra/information-facilities/camping/bleriot-ferry/
Thank you. I know you said Alberta, and I figured it was in Canada. But I've never visited there.
Nice video filming. You are a true craftsman and choice of upgrades excellent. Canadians have always appreciated fine design and have preserved it. (Look at their resort cabins I.e.) The galley is spaced perfectly - better than some newer ones. I always enjoyed the full bedroom in back and nice size bath. It is like looking at some futuristic spaceship - HMS Enterprize. ! Cheers !
I've always liked vintage Mopar vehicles. :)
It's nice to see Myrtle on the move. Do you have any more videos of Myrtle planned in the future?
This is my idea of a motorhome should be.
I love the rounded, aerodynamic shape of the Travco motorhome. It's not boxy, like the Winnebago motorhome, nor is it front-wheel drive, like the GMC Motorhome. It looks as handsome today as it was 50 yrs ago.
Recognise the alberta plates will have to check out your blog :)
Sweet looking interior. This video is two years old. Do you still have it, or did you sell it?
Still have it! Check out her FB page for more up to date photos etc facebook.com/MyrtleAndMe
+Capri R Thank you. I just did. Beautiful looking Travco. :)
Beautiful looking Travco. I love the two-tone colour combination.
@Tumbleweed What do you think would be more attractive?
ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS AND MOD!!! Well done!
has the person doing the video lost there voice ??
That's a sweet motorhome. Can i ask you where did you find it?. Im living in canmore, and i notice your license from alberta. Congratulatins!!!
Pablo P We found it on Craigslist, in Bozeman, Montana, and then drove it up to Alberta. you can read the story here myrtleandme.blogspot.ca/2008/06/start-of-love-affair.html
+Pablo P I found it on craigslist, in Montana. Lots more photos and information on her Facebook page and blog facebook.com/myrtleandme
+Pablo P Wanna go for coffee?
+2000talon lol for sure let me known when you are in Cochrane and im in.!!!!!
That's super sweet! My Dad & Uncles helped manufacture these by making parts for them at Eugene Welding Co. In Marysville MI! I'd love to get one and fix it up as a tribute to my father and his desire to teach us kids how to "rough it" a lil more cushy that just popping a tent! :) lol
Louise Durcan if u r still looking text me back
nuthin' like an old Dodge.
That has to be one of the most beautiful motorhomes ever made.
love the rear bumber
Thanks! We had it chromed :)
Amazing, and period correct, restoration!
It has a 318 poly engine
What kind of engine does it have? Know the later ones came with a 440...
It's a time capsule on wheels... I keep expecting Don Draper to come out of the shitter...
I meant to say its affixed with metal threshold strips, what are used to hold two flooring coverings together at a doorway. You can see more on the myrtle blog
Great Job! What did you use for the curved ceiling material? Does Myrtle have a middle seam like the older (late 60's-70's). Thanks!
