Vietnam is the most corrupted country in Asia, if not in the whole world. The moment the foreigners arrive at the airport, they will be greeted by the Vietnamese customs officers who blatantly ask for "tip". The tourists also have to deal with the thieves (pocket-pickers, phone snatchers, street vendors) everywhere on the streets, and even at the hotels. Thailand is the much safer choice.

What are the names of the resorts?

Having lived in both places, one of the biggest negatives of Vietnam in noise pollution. Thai's seldon blow their horns while in Vietnam the blare of horns frankly, obnoxious and annoying. Another big disadvantage is traffic. Although not for the faint of heart, I ride my motorbike easily in Thailand, I wouldn't even try. If I were looking for a wife, Thailand wouldn't be very high on my list. Vietnamese ladies seem to be a bit more loyal. These are just my personal experiences.

I prefer Vietnamese people. In fact, after 6 years in Thailand I'll be based in Da Nang very soon.

Both great and welcoming countries. I feel like Thailand is further ahead in infrastructure at least in the city. But Vietnam feels more accessible despite this. Both have amazing food, if I had to choose I’d go with Vietnam just because the coffee is so good there.

My experience is that they differ a lot. Thailand is warm and friendly and easy to explore. Vietnam is even more beautiful.. Very interesting with its political history. Better food. But Vietnam is also a bit edgy, more competetive. It can sometimes be a challenge to visit. Frequent scams in the big cities. That said, both are lovely countries.

I love them both. When I go to Vietnam it feels a lot like Thailand 20* years ago. For me I love the differences

Girls look better in Vietnam. The beautiful girls in Thailand look more fair and oriental looking which in the end is similar to the “Vietnamese look”. I like Cambodia better. Cambodia uses US dollars. Cambodian people are nicer. But Cambodia is still poor and roads are bad.

thailand is already super touristic. vietnam has still few years to go before this turns into tourist only place. overall issue is SEA is that there are hardly any real nature left.
