Thanks. 3:40 On GarageBand, why did you use the Audio Recorder when the Amp option was next to it? Is the audio recorder for a better signal or different features?
Hey man...tks for this video! Let me ask u something...do you have the chance to check the latency using iRig HD with iOS? Is the latency (using iPhone or iPad) a big problem? In this video it looks like there is no latency, am I right?! Again...thank you
Does it work with the yousician application? In my case, as soon as I exit the application, it is impossible to have the sound of the guitar in the headphones! However on yousician it recognizes the device for the choice of the microphone. But nothing works. Thank you for your help
Hi, thank you for that video I been search all day for a simple video to show me how to use the recorder. By chance did you make one using the drummer looper? Giving you a like and a follow.
Totally could but my big plan is to be able to get our band in front of a group of people and play. Some of the songs require me to switch from massive distort to clean-ish and I don't know of a way to do that easily (I'm a total novice bass player) and the foot stomp is nice to have. And the amps and effects in garage band are so fun for sure! Would be cool if there was a way to use them and change with a foot pedal. I asked in a previous post if there is some kind of garage band foot pedal but haven't done any research to find out. Also not sure where I could plug something else into the iPad... Please share if you figure any way to do that.
Thanks so much for this clear, step by step walkthrough that doesn't assume I have vast experience with home recording. Had been looking for such a video for my new iRig2. Bear down Arizona.
Borrowing an ipad 6th gen fully updated, plug in like yours except the amp and mine just blinks feint blue as it seems to be unable to start up. Only get a bright blue light when connected to a PC for testing. As soon as I plug in the irig the ipad gets unresponsive and weird so I guess it's a last test with the guy with mac at work before I return it.
sorry for the delay on responses. Yeah sounds like possibly a faulty iRig unit because it should be drawing power through the lightening cable attached to the iPad. Or maybe the iPad wasn't allowing a power draw? Really don't know.
@@abetwick @Abraham Wick No worries, I finally gathered motivation to go demo the issue at a store of the same chain. We quickly saw that my lightning cable was faulty as using one from another box worked as expected, so they gave me that one. The disappointment and my hate for trouble shooting was really my biggest issue to overcome.
Hi, do you know if ipad 8 can still work with the irig hd2? From their specification, they stopped support service to irig and will not develop it anymore.
Hi - this is a great video! I am struggling with one part of the irig-hd2/GarageBand connection though. I can go into “audio recorder” like you, and get the processed/effects to come out of my physical amplifier via 1/4 like you. But when I go to the AMP section of GarageBand, even with Monitor ON, I get no sound out of my physical amplifier. What am I doing wrong/how can I get the processed (pedals, etc) sound to come out of the 1/4 line like I do when I’m in “audio recorder”?
I have been trying to figure out how to set it up for a while now I understand I probably was running the clean sound only hence why there was no sound changes. But without it on, it sounds like my guitar is unplugged. Do I have to just turn it all the way up?
Do you think I could use this device to insert iPhone calls into my mixer and send the main mix back into the phone without the caller’s hearing his voice ? For a radio station type thing…
Dang - that would be cool for sure. I did run the ouput on the combo through some old mixers but I'm stumped how to feed a signal back into the iPad... Did you have any luck?
This is very useful for me. I have bought myself an iRig HD 2 some months ago but have not done anything with it. I love playing the guitar too! Thank you! I am trying to use it for 'live streaming' on FB
I do use pedals in my combo amp but garage band won't record any sounds that I make from those pedals. So, when practicing I'll put in my bass pedal because I can turn it on and off with my foot. Maybe there is some kind of garage band external pedal control?
Thanks. 3:40 On GarageBand, why did you use the Audio Recorder when the Amp option was next to it? Is the audio recorder for a better signal or different features?
Not bad . Thanks a good introduction to what I’m looking for. Appreciate the hard work.
I only have android phone so it can't work with it ??

very intresting mate
Thanks a lot. I will buy a hd2 model right now. Your great explanation will be helpful to me.

I have everything hooked up but when I turn FX on there’s no I’ll put into my app only when I said it to bypass
Why would you not go to the Amps an effects in garage band?

Thank you so much for this
No problem 😊

The clean sound has some reverb, but it does sound great irrespective of that.
very clear explanation

trying to get an answer about ik products can be an absolute nightmare!. ive been trying to work this out for about 3 month now.
Hey Joe and Damon. I didn't mess with the ik software much - but I noticed when I use garage band I can use the pedals etc.

my hd 2 irig lightning cable broke in about 4 days and I can not find another alternative to connect it to my phone and my computer :(
That sucks. Definitely a downfall when manufacturers use propriety cabling. Did you contact iRig? Shot in the dark.
Can I paly backing track for practice?
Nobody explained how it’s setup as good as you did! Amazingly clear explanation. Thanks mate
Glad it helped!
may i ask if its gonna work on electric drums?
Does this device support iPad Pro 11 2020?
Thanks Ray Romano...
I must have received a faulty unit, when I plug my iRig HD2 into an amp via the 1/4" jack it is way too quiet, even with all my knobs maxxed out
Testing a new one and it's not able to fire up properly, just blinks feint blue and I hear things connect and disconnect and see it in various apps.
there’s system to the chaos
Does this work for iPad Pro 2020
I haven't tried - did you have any luck?
Can you please tell me if the power on the iPad reduces while using the iRig or is power being fed in via lightening port. Thank you...
Clive Webb it drains the power, you can get an apple camera kit and charge it as well.
@@manus.572 Thanks mate. I have had mine for about a month now and it only uses a little power. I love the thing...
Thanks for the informative overview!
Thanks dude! This was very helpful :)

Perfect explanation. Now I totally understand the set-up. Very very good !!!
I can help you to create videos early Wednesdays e work best also weekends sincerely Aiden
