This seal is one of three seal species living in the Baltic Sea. They eat mostly fish, but if available, will eat shellfish and octopus and even larger animals. There are some documented cases of grey seals attacking harbour porpoises. They do not drink water at all, their food is the only source of water. Young seals have cream coat color. Before learning to swim they shed their pup fur and grow a waterproof one. Their fur is darker at the top of the body and they are covered with multiple black or dark grey spots. The older they get, the darker their fur becomes. They have a long history of conflict with fishermen dating back to antique times! The conflict peaked by the end of the XIX century as grey seals population increased then and they were destroying fishnets for fishing salmon and also stealing and eating the fish. Due to hunting, their population in the Baltic Sea decreased from 100 thousands at the beginning of XX century to just 20 thousand in just 30 years. Later, the population decreased even more to a few thousands due to habitat pollution that caused infertility. At the moment there is probably about 20 thousand seals in the Baltic Sea and they are under protection.

These drawings are really nice. I am having a hard time understanding how the images go with the prompts. For “the sea” you drew a rooster and a sheep….. I feel like it would make more sense if you made your own list since you’re not sticking to the prompts. I love how your drawings are coming out though they have a cohesive style.

Inktober day 11 - Red fox (Lis rudy) - this is the biggest spiecies of fox and its natural habitat is the entire Northern Hemisphere. However, they were introduced to Australia, were they are a very invasive species. Foxes are very social animals, they create herds led by one alpha couple. They are omnivorous and mostly hunt small rodents. But can also hunt other small mammals, birds and even fawns. They also eat a lot of various fruit, especially during Autumn. They have great hearing, they can hear a mouse from 100 m. To hunt, they locate the animal by sound, take a huge leap (2 m high) and land at the prey. They live in burrows that they usually dig near trees.

Hello, Justyna! It's nice to meet a Polish artist. Most I know so far are from US, UK, Canada, Australia, and a few from Germany, Norway and South Africa. Very nice paintings from past years. It's hard to pick a favorite, maybe the chameleon and toucans, but the upright horse took me back to some happy memories. This will be my first Inktober. Starting out with ballpoint pens. Will see where it leads. Can't wait to see what everyone creates. 🎨

Slyszalam o tej marce juz jakis czas temu, ale z jakiegos powodu nie zalapalam, ze jest to polska marka i jakos o niej zapomnialam. Dzisiaj przez przypadek obejrzalam mini wywiad z Panem Romanem i bardzo mnie zauroczyl swoja autentycznoscia i podejsciem do pigmentow. Po obejrzeniu kilku recenzji planuje kupic kilka kolorow i je przetestowac, ale cos mi mowi, ze bardzo sie z nimi polubie 😊

i think its helps too see the granulating colors by letting the particles rest and separate (by adding water) its better the less you touch them? and then you add water. so i think its one big swipe with the color with alot of paint on it and then dropping water into the paint! thanks for showing us your beautiful color choices! hugs, from Canada
