Sadness, mixed with anticipation for spring. Time to pull the chair up in front of the fire looking forward to April and starting up the boat again. Tie up a few dry flies. Unlimber the fly rod and lube the ferrules. Life in late middle age is pretty good.

The tree color was magnificent. I loved the explanation of the bumpy ride and no brakes on the way down. You can see the remaining adrenaline draining from your cheeks as you realize you made it safely to the bottom.

Well had been planning on planting some fruit trees, but I may have to reconsider that plan. 🤨 Don’t think we have any bears in our neighborhood, but we do seem to have lots of other hungry predators. 😊

Having experienced the same situation with my 100+ plums, now I know exactly why. (except for the bear)
