What a very desinterested umpire! At 3:36 he forgot to give the gentleman on the far side his well deserved point which led to an 11:9 "win" whereas the game should have continued at 11:10.

I wish we could have continued to watch that warm up after the camera fell.

No way I'll accept this guy's serves. No way. Hides the ball and sometimes doesn't serve behind the line. Wtf!

Neil wasn't serving fairly at all. I watched him closely while serving with his back to the camera. He intentionally hid the point of contact between the ball and the bat - all the time. The referee should have called him out. It was just awful sportsmanship.

Neil is a class act.

Your opponent here was very good, especially with that fade forhand. In my oppinion his serves though crossed the line from being slightly illegal (which unfortunately seems endemic in all the UK league level table tennis I've seen on video) to gaining an advantage, as for 26 out of his 28 serves, from the camera's point of view, the ball went behind some part of his body -- including fingers, hand, lower arm and even his face. I feel you'd have had good grounds to call for the referee in this match.

His style is your Nemesis because he pulls you in and away from the table as well as giving sharp angles and the long pip reverse, making you're natural lobber/defensive play less productive. My game plan would be not invite short play/serves to deny the long pips player the tighter angles. Keep play long and fast attacking with topspin when receiving the first ball :)
