    I got a pair of "Ridge Leisure cycling shoes" from Halfords a few Years ago. Cannot fault the things so far for comfort and value for money . Was £34 . They are £40 now . Also use them with spds road and off road if you want. Yeah I like the ones that look like trainers but can handle multi ride tasks and also ok for a bit of walking.

      @JohnonaBike 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The type you can walk on are better in my opinion as you sometimes need to walk. I remember years back I had a puncture and tried to replace the tube only to fine the new tube was faulty. I had no phone with me at the time and it was to far to walk with the standard cycling shoes I had even thought it was only a few miles so I had to borrow a phone off a farmer and get picked up. If I had cycling shoes I could walk in I could have easily walked home

I used an adjustable stem to lift my bars up you can see that here th-cam.com/video/0ZeusVyAGVg/w-d-xo.html also have a look at this video where I changed to much more comfortable handlebars th-cam.com/video/xBsp0SuNTSw/w-d-xo.html

    • @JohnonaBike
      @JohnonaBike 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes if on a long ride you might need padded shorts and to be fair these are not made specifically for cycling but I thought they could work especially on shorter rides and maybe to work etc

    We’ve recently booked a few days at a seafront hotel in Whitley Bay for our three day cycling tour for next year. Usually the base is in Newcastle but this time we’ve opted for a more coastal base. Looking forward to it 👍

    I have had a few helmets. I have only had one very comfortable helmet, but unfortunately it isn't very good at protecting your head from the light crashes. According to Virginia Tech, the helmet I had would protect my head from most major concussions, but wouldn't do much against the usual bumps. I'm thinking of buying a better helmet, but I don't want a helmet that is uncomfortable. Thanks for the review, you may just have sold me on the Outdoor Master Gem. It got a five star safety review by Virginia Tech, so that is also a plus. God bless, and safe riding

    • @JohnonaBike
      @JohnonaBike 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for the kind comments 🙂 Yes a good helmet is of course vital but it does have to be comfortable to or you wont like using it. The Ooutdoor master helmet was very comfortable and fitted my head snugly

    Covered some of that route when we rode up to Durham a couple of days ago, through Littletown and passing that quarry. Came back through Sunderland Bridge, Hett and Bishopton Middleham, which was a bit lumpy to say the least 😉👍
